Sorry for starting a new thread, but I didn't want this to get lost. One of the big assumptions of the college sports armageddon has been that Oklahoma, Texas, A&M and now Missouri would all leave and blow up the Big 12. That's still very likely to happen, but what if it doesn't? T Boone Pickens seems to be much more optimistic that it can be avoided. Does the SEC and Pac-12 then stay put where they are? What do the Big East football schools do? I'm asking because I haven't got a clue myself. But it would really change the dynamic. newsok.com/boone-pickens-big-12-isnt-dead-texas-am-sobering-up/article/3605929?custom_click=masthead_topten

Maybe the "Big East-Big 12 Merger" thread could be a good place for this discussion?

Follow-up: Oklahoma wants a new commissioner with some other demands. newsok.com/article/3605958If that were to happen, the new/old Big 12 would be looking for 1 or 3 new football schools. No merger with the Big East, and the musical chairs game would get even more drastic. Some football schools would have to get left out.

Some of the Pac 12 do not want Texas and Oklahoma.
