Big trouble brewing for the Seagulls. Their team resembles the cast of the Wizard of Oz with Scarecrow Reid at the helm, Tin Man Vick under center and Cowardly little Desean refusing to run across the middle. It is hard to beleieve that in the history of this loser franchise, that it took this long for them to blow back to back leads like this at home. 1960 forever. How often do you think the Eagles had back to back leads like this at home? Hard to blow them if you never have them

Instead of focusing on the lack of focus that is the Philadelphia Eagles, I prefer to focus on the new focus on winning and winning attitudes that Jim Harbaugh has instilled in San Francisco.
(and every time you read the word focus in the above sentence, you should pronounce it like Priscilla Barnes in 'Mallrats.' ;D )
They don't have a lot of huge weapons in the arsenal, their stats are nothing to get blown over by, and they're shaky health-wise.
But dadgummit if they ain't just winning. (sorry for the Spurrier-ism).
Got a chance to see the Ravens game live last night about 8 rows up on the 30-yard line. I can still hear the hit that Ngata laid on Sanchez (right in front of me) that led to the Johnson return TD. One thing that I am fairly certain of today is that Mark Sanchez is in a tremendous amount of pain.
(though, being at the game, I couldn't hear the ref, and still not sure why that was called a fumble when he said that Sanchez's arm was going forward....but I'll take it).

Awesome you got to go yesterday, Boz. The actual call the ref made was that Sanchez's hand was going forward EMPTY, thus a fumble. The stadium started booing too quickly so he couldn't finish.
Agree completely about the 49ers. I'll be interested to see how this team continues throughout the season, but I believe Jim is an excellent coach and the 49ers HAVE had good picks the past decade, although not as good as the Lions.
Great comeback by the Lions, glad to see they finally made the leap. I'm not putting too much on the Bill's loss other then the fact that this is the first time they had the targets on their back. We know they can win coming from behind but lets see how they handle leads the rest of the season.
Tonight's game should be interesting. Hopefully it won't be total futility when the Colts are on offense and I hope that Freeman/Bucs make this their breakout game.

Happy for Lions fans and they have a fun team to watch--but not buying they are contenders at all. For some reason the media/country has this attitude that if you beat the Dallas Cowboys, you are "legit". Why? Since the year 2000, Dallas is 90-90 with 1 playoff win. What I've seen from Detroit is they played like crap against 2 average/poor teams on the road (Minnesota being the poor, Dallas the average) and only thing you can admire is they cameback to win. Dallas of course was missing their #1 WR and still put up 30 pts and Romo did what Romo does--give away a game. Vikings have done this 4 weeks in a row. If you want to say that Lions deserve good things, etc....I'm on board fully but the football they've shown the past 2 weeks is more Denver Broncos--McDaniels Year 1 like.
LMAO at the Ronnie Brown play in Eagles game and Andy Reid actually challenging that. WTF? Why would you try to throw a lateral at the 1 yd line? Reid says it was a forward pass? Huh? What possesses a player to even consider putting the ball out so careless? Then again, you have every player on planet stretching the ball out to get an extra half yard even if they are 9 yds short of a 1st down or endzone, so why should I be surprised??
Hope Pats use Steven Ridley more and loved seeing Danny Woodhead put properly in his place as a mascot and not as a reliable running option. There is a reason this guy wasn't drafted and was cut several times. Pats defense--YUCK.
Baltimore's ass kicking after the beatdown Raiders put on Jets physically was something to see. Jets have an awful front 7, a poor OL, no speed at WR, and no gamebreakers at RB, but they are a contender based on what they did the past 2 years? Rex Ryan can sell all he wants but these guys are not a championship team. Joe Namath should guarantee the Jets won't be in AFC Title game this year and he'll be right again!
Early predictions on who gets Andrew Luck? He's best chance Zygi has of getting a new stadium, so hope for Queen fans is going 0-16, 1-15 and looking at schedule they can do it. Their best chance at a win is this week at home against Arizona who keeps teams in games, so that could be the win to avoid winless season and still be in prime Luck position.

Having the Bungles sandwiched in between New England and Philadelphia (even with Philly's woes) is the dictionary definition of the term "trap game."
Sorry that the Bills fell into it, but it's understandable (cue RDF shouting at me: "NO IT ISN'T!! THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE PROFESSIONALS!!!" ;D )
Like most everyone I think, I am excited for the Lions. They are a fun team to watch. And Calvin Johnson is literally just a superhuman, I think. What a treat to get to watch that guy play the game. (and what a treat for a young QB to have him to go to).
EDIT: having said that, I think RDF's overall analysis is accurate: they are a fun team now, but not a great team. But I think they will be. Be interesting to see what happens next week against Da Bears.
The Jets have their share of problems, but one of the things we were talking about last night (including with some Jets fans who were sitting nearby), was the one RDF mentioned about speed. They cannot stretch the field at all. They have no wide receivers with any speed except for Santonio, and even if he does go deep, Sanchez doesn't have the arm to match. The Jets attempted about two-three passes (it seemed like) all night that were more than 10 yards.
Sorry, but that's just fresh, raw meat for a team like the Ravens. I'm surprised they didn't have more interceptions.
And even though Flacco was off last night, the fact that the Ravens attempted a number of bombs (and almost hit a couple of them) re4ally served them well over the course of the game.

It's funny, that play by Ngata was the only play that I saw of the Raven-Jet game last night. I had just come in from swimming, and put the game on to see the score. When the play was (correctly, I thought) ruled a TD, I turned the game off, figuring I didn't need to watch a rout. What was really funny, though, was not only the crowd reaction to the ref's announcement, but also Rex Ryan's reaction. The ref's statement was quite clear on TV, but it was obvious that, due to the crowd's premature booing, Rex also thought that the call had been reversed.

So I hear the Old Bullslinger had some less than complimentary things to say about Aaron Rodgers, again establishing that he is one of the biggest deesh in the US of A.

Hey Huckleberry: Maybe Aaron Rodgers would've won a Super Bowl sooner if you hadn't have been in his way for three years! What an . You are one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. If you keep your mouth shut, maybe we'll all continue to think of you that way, instead of as a petty child. Now, go play with Anthony Weiner and leave us alone.

Some people would say that the real Al Davis died more than 20 years ago and was replaced by an alien who did his utmost to tarnish the real Al's reputation.

Jim Schwartz can talk junk to everyone during a game, he can talk with opposing players, mock other coaches (when Harbaugh challenged and got a 15 yd unsportsmanlike penalty, he said way to know the F-ing rules expletive Harbaugh) and when they give it back, he goes off. This guy is looking more like Josh McDaniels-a guy who is far too emotional to understand the bigger picture--which is Lions have no running game, they have no legit WR opposite Johnson, and their defensive back 7 is very average. Worry about your own crap before going nuts on opposing coach who just beat your ass, you jackass.
Thank goodness Jason Garrett is the Coach/OC of Cowboys. That gave Patriots a win they had no business getting. What's even more disturbing for Cowboy fans--in Rob Ryan they have a coach who has brought an attitude/confidence and coaching ability to their defense which makes them credible, and yet he'll be gone soon due to HC job and Jerry will stick with his puppet Garrett who is always trying to "outsmart" his opponent. Here's a very simple plan--when you have playmakers-get them the ball--which is why they are playmakers to begin with, instead of screens to Martellus Bennett, shovel passes to Tashard Choice, and finesse football you love. What a clown. LOL

Nah, the Cowboys lost because of the blue jerseys. The real reason the Patriots won is very simple - Tom Brady. You will be telling your grandchildren you saw him play.

It's amazing to me that a guy who I thought was nothing more than an ok college quarterback is clearly going to go down as one of the all time great pro quarterbacks. I guess people might say that about Joe Montana as well, but I saw signs in college that he might be special. I don't recall anything of that nature from Brady.
Cue up comments from the Old Bullslinger disparaging Tom Brady's QB skills.

That's the beauty of sports. You never know who will ultimately succeed and surpass all expectations. Tom Brady. GU's own Charles Smith (before all his personal problems). The list goes on.

That's certainly true. And for QBs, I guess the best example of all is Johnny Unitas. And what about Kurt Warner? Is Warner a HOFer? He put up some unreal numbers, but not for that long.

And here I thought there couldn't possibly be a worse played game battle of incompetency this week than Cleveland-Seattle. Shows how much I know. What the hell was that?

To celebrate Thanksgiving early, as a Chefs fan I am thankful that the Chargers continue to be led by Norval, Phillip and AJ. There is no way in hell KC should be in position to be at the top of the division after next week after the way they started the season.

That's certainly true, but credit to the Chiefs for the way they have rebounded from those two monumental shellackings. That wasn't just an ordinary 0-2 start.
