1) Georgetown v Davidson replay was on FIOS 1 in Hoboken tonight. Why, I don't know, but i like it.
2) Why would the administration deny Laffayette Sports Net from televising the game? If the answer is because of money, thats messed up.

First reason that came to my mind was that the admin was too embarrassed by having the worst facilities in all college sports highlighted on TV. I watched the games on the internet and TV several times and the camera shots of the dirt, port-a-potties and tiny 500 person visitor bleachers (smaller than almost All HS) was horrible. So embarrassing that I actually don’t pipe it onto the Big Screen for fear that my 9 yr old might ask some really difficult questions. I would have to believe that the school and/or AD has the same concerns!
Gtown – Please give the school, athletes, students and alumni facilities that are not the most embarrassing in all of college athletics!!!!!!

As a Lafayette fan, I've come to enjoy reliable, high-quality broadcasts of all Lafayette College football games, both home and away. Lafayette games are available to millions of viewers on broadcast, cable and satellite stations in the northeast and mid-atlantic regions. These broadcasts benefit Lafayette alumni as well as the alumni of its opponents. A Lafayette Sports Network (LSN) telecast is the only time some of our opponent's fans are able to see their team on live broadcast television all year. I am aware of no prior instance in which a Lafayette College opponent has prohibited an LSN broadcast. Georgetown's reasons for now doing so remain unexpressed. A couple of sources have suggested that an exclusivity arrangement between Georgetown athletics and Verizon's FiOS1 channel in some fashion prohibits the broadcast. This conflict apparently was expressed for the very first time earlier this week. Live LSN broadcasts of Georgetown football games have never been an issue in the past. Some Lafayette fans are skeptical about embracing Georgetown's eleventh-hour "exclusivity" rationale. Some of the reasons not to accept that explanation are: - Princeton also has a television agreement with Verizon FiOS1. Last year's Lafayette/Princeton game was televised both on Verizon FiOS1 and Lafayette Sports Network:
That didn't seem to be any conflict for Princeton or for Verizon.
- Verizon has been broadcasting Georgetown games on FiOS1 since 2007. LSN broadcasts from Multi-Sport Field in 2009 and 2007 overlapped whatever agreement Georgetown athletics have with Verizon. If LSN could broadcast then, why not now?
- The Lafayette/Georgetown game will not be live on FiOS1. In fact, the Potomac FiOS1 broadcast schedule indicates that a replay of the Davidson/Georgetown game will be broadcast from 5-8PM Saturday, beginning an hour before the Lafayette/Georgetown kickoff. There is no indication on the official Potomac FiOS1 schedule of any Lafayette/Georgetown broadcast, live or tape-delayed, at any time. When does Verizon intend to show this game, if at all?
- In its lawsuits against MSG network, Verizon takes the position that live sporting events are unique and cannot be duplicated by other means (unlike, for example, local newscasts). Therefore, Verizon, argues, there can be no claim of exclusivity over a live sporting event outside of a given medium (i.e. optical lines vs. satellite vs. over-the-air vs. cable). Basically, Verizon's lawyers argue that it is illegal to do precisely what Verizon and/or Georgetown are now doing.
I hold out no hope whatsoever that the the ill-advised decision not to allow a live television broadcast of this weekend's game will be re-examined. Those who make such decisions typically are too entrenched to reassess them and likely believe that they have more pressing matters to which to attend. However, as a colleague expressed so well, football programs with a desire to win want to be on TV. Best of luck to all this weekend. NB: In light of the decision to block the LSN television broadcast this weekend, Lafayette athletics has chosen to offer a FREE live webcast of the game. This free service will benefit Lafayette and Georgetown fans alike. It appears that the Georgetown athletics webcast will be by paid subscription only. Check goleopards.com for all the details.

Who gives a crap. Honestly they're really worked up about it on their message board. I'm sorry for the 10 people affected by this gross miscarriage of justice.

Here's a link to an unauthorized stream of the Georgetown All-Access webcast. Now all 10 Georgetown fans can watch the Hoya version of the game for free as well:

Bogie, thank you for the free link but go home. No one likes you. If you cannot instantly recognize a very clear and simple Seinfeld reference you really have no place here.

It's really amusing to me to watch the lafayette fans get worked into a tizzy about this. They don't have a right to come to our campus and broadcast the game. We let them do so. It's not something we have to do. Verizon apparently said No and since we signed a new contract with them in 2010 apparently it has an exclusivity clause prohibiting other networks from broad casting the games they're broad casting. There's nothing we can do about it even if we wanted to. Love how they're all high and mighty about their program which is going down the tubes. They even admit that if they lose to us tomorrow they have a real possibility of going winless. Why would you want to see that team anyway? We're not good either but at least we don't pretend we are. Guess what Leopards you're a lot closer to being Davidson than you are to being ND state, better get used to it.
and yes am mostly saying this stuff to get a reaction out of them. After all their coach and players seem to be underestimating us again, based on the quotes in their local paper. Fool me once shame on you. Looks like Lafayette's staff is about to get fooled again so it's shame on them.
I think we win tomorrow. Based on their fan's assessments their coaching staff is to suborn and looks mostly to run despite their top two back being unavailable. If they do that agianst the Hoyas they'll most likely lose.

Reading this made me feel so many emotions. The main one is that Bogie needs a hug.
That write-up took TIME. It was well thought-out, detailed, grammatically sound and...passionate. The fact that I sincerely mean all of that just sort of makes me sad for Bogie.
My response: dude, we're the Georgetown message board. Not the Georgetown trustees, not the G'town President. So far as I'm aware, no one here works for Fios or the FCC or any organization with any authority in this situation.
If it makes you feel better, make all of the bullet point lists you want laying out your analysis about contracts we haven't heard and can't control. It'll give me something to read while I listen to the game on internet radio.
Hoya saxa.

From what I've heard third hand from the SID. Lafayette Fans are much more upset about this than Lafayette representatives were. It really wasn't a big deal at all when the two sides discussed this apparently.
