6'6 PG/SG out of Baltimore. Played last season at St. Benedict's. Have heard he is super tough, a great passer, and fairly skilled -- but lacks a quality jump shot.
Have also heard that Hoyas tracked him hard this summer and he could definitely be an option for this class.

Excerpt But he’s going to be a really special player because of his ability to pass. Not all kids enjoy passing the ball these days. And he loves it. Sometimes I have to get on him to take shots because he’s always trying to pass the ball. But he understands the game at a high level." Sounds like a Hoya.

Jamel has re-classified to '13 class and is at Vermont Prep and having a fine year. Hoyas are making a move with him--he recently did update with Rivals and listed them in his top 4. He's a very skilled player for 6'5-6'6 kid--can play the PG position and is a guy I'd love to see end up a Hoya. Happy that Hoyas are making a move with him-they were getting courtesy placement on his list for longest-but seem to really have gained some momentum with him. Doesn't have an offer from Hoyas or any of his top schools yet.
Interesting that he mentioned Hoyas fondly in same week that Georgetown scouted Sam Cassell Jr as well--as Hoyas need to try and get back in good graces in Baltimore--too much talent in that city and the players are tough but skilled.
From Rivals Panther-Lair site (Pitt):
"Pitt, Florida, Georgetown, and Syracuse. Those are my top four right now. "

Thanks for that, RDF. Could someone change the year next to his name?

Sam Cassell Jr.? Didn't Sam just retire, like, 3 weeks ago?

Watched some of his videos on youtube and its good that he passes the ball well, but the Hoyas need a PG with a solid handle. I am not talking about someone who can dribble out front by going through his legs and behind his back with no one close to him. I am talking about a guard who can dribble into traffic and not turn the ball over. The videos that I saw of him had him giving the ball up each time a guard pressured him, although it was with a pass.

It's a good thing the coaches don't rely on YouTube videos to make their evaluations...

It's a good thing the coaches don't rely on YouTube videos to make their evaluations... Since you have seen him play in person you have an advantage. Does he have a solid handle that allows him to dribble into traffic and not lose the ball? Or good enough to break a press with a pesky defender?
