I'd be shocked if it was anywhere but Fresno if this is the case.

It's a good thing we lost out on that Noel guy so we could get this dude. Right?

I hope we're all in on this kid at this point. I don't want to wait around to see what Nerlens Noel does just to get burnt. he is massive, moves well for his size and from all indications plays hard and WANTS to get better. We laugh because it's funny, we laugh because it's true.

Maybe there's a miniscule sliver of hope that our staff suspected Nerlens was only creating a spectacle of us and had been working Upshaw prior to his return to the US?
Grasping at straws here. Seems pretty ominous. From prior commentary it sounded as if he had said some less than encouraging things.
Has Fresno St been any good recently?

Fresno has been down but is moving into the MWC/CUSA next year. That will be a step up from the WAC.

Never felt good about this once he re-opened his recruitment and if it's not us, oh well, wasn't holding my breath any way.

Hmmm
DaveTelep Can't sleep. It's a big country but I'm trying to find a 7-footer. Where's Robert Upshaw? He's NOT at Fresno, KState, SCar, UNC, Duke.

DaveTelep This is random but if I had to guess where Robert Upshaw is I'd start the list with Georgetown. UK maybe? Ohio St? Cuse? Washington? Oregon?
UPDATE:
DaveTelep Ok, scratch Georgetown. Don't think he's there. Folks, keep eyes peeled. Kid's 7-feet tall. Tough to miss. Upshaw got me stumped now.

Fresno State?? Really??....Hmm I'm a 7 foot big man where should I go Georgetown or Fresno State??? Tough call... Well he's from Fresno, so I guess thats enough? Im not holding my breath. But it will be surprising to see where he goes. Only thing to be hopeful about is that the only thing Gtowd PR is good at is keep secrets.

The kid is from Fresno. If it is important to stay close to home then he isn't going across the country to DC. I also disagree with the assumption that RU is a 3-4 yr kid. I think it is more 2-3yrs and closer to 2 yrs. I hope the staff has been on this kid but all signs point to him choosing Fresno when he decided to make his decision so soon after Noel. Unless the staff knew long before the rest of us that Nerlens wasn't coming to the hilltop................

Distance can't be too important; Kansas State is pretty far from Fresno. Looks per Telep's tweets like we have an unwelcome dark horse entrant in this race.

He didn't want to come here the first time I'm not sure why everyone expected him to make us his choice on the next go around. That article interview made it clear doesn't care about development.

It's a good thing we lost out on that Noel guy so we could get this dude. Right? Ha, very snarky would we expect less from MCI. Who knows if we made a play??? I though can tell from Noel's comments, he didn't want to come here either...he woulda done it cause his mom thought it was best. I just hope the staff unless Upshaw said no not interested pushed as hard as they could cause he has the chance to be a very good one.

But if you want to go THERE it was always stupid for people to go around almost hoping Noel did not choose Georgetown in order for the Hoyas to get a big man who turned them down already for an inferior program. As I asked back then what was it that made people sure the Hoyas would be the favorite for Upshaw's services? And you are reaching if you think Noel showed a level of disinterest or disrespect to the Georgetown program and its history like Upshaw did. Noel was always respectful and in the end chose the hottest program in the nation, Kentucky, over Georgetown which gave a late push. Compared that to Upshaw who essentially said he didn't care if Gtown had a tradition of developing big men and then decided on choosing that college basketball mecca known as Kansas State. It's not even close. If Upshaw picks the Hoyas then I will admit to being wrong. As it stands now however that doesn't look like that is going to happen.

Whining??? Hardly! Dude I don't take message boards that seriously to whine. I was commenting on how you choose to backside dis whether or not you say it was at me or not. You know it was. Stop fronting!!! I don't think it was stupid to hope. I hope we sign 6 mcds every year that's not going to happen but wanting someone who listed us as a finalist is unrealistic??? Come on man. I respect your opinion here but now you just are poking the bear at the zoo. It's cool just want to make sure you now I know how you roll before we continue.
Edit... By continue I mean on this board not this discussion to be clear

As for upshaw I wanted him more because I thought he could help us in the immediate more that's why I wanted him more. It wasn't on respect for the program. If upshaw has a problem with the legacy doesn't hurt me, everyone has their own opinion. Noel in that comment said basically I had to talk my mom in being okay with where I wanted to go
