was originally saying he'd committ in the spring, howeva, his dad said he'd basically committ once he sees all of the four schools.

Hopefully, Roy and maybe Jeff, will "happen" to be on campus today and "happen" to run into Upshaw. As a board member, isn't Zo allowed to be on campus whenever he likes and meet as many recruits as possible? I don't know the arcane NCAA recruiting rules, but that would seem reasonable to me.
Meanwhile, I hope JT3 and staff can lock up both of these kids!

This is an incredibly important recruit IMO.
He fills one of the final few needs this young core group needs.
I'm not one to say our system is better for _______ than ________'s system. But here I will, this is the best fit for the kid.

Sounds eerily like the KA thread.
Georgetown is the best fit for young Mr. Upshaw.

Zo is definitely on campus today as I believe the Campaign for Georgetown begins. He is speaking this afternoon and helping to lead the toast this evening.

if Zo is in on campus and actually meets this kid, someone needs to update the Scholarship table. One less open slot to work with.

If Zo is on campus (and based on posts in this thread I guess he is), there is no way JT3 will miss the opportunity to make SURE their paths cross! Robert Upshaw.... come on DOWN!

Any chance Patrick will also be there for the kickoff of the campaign? Would be a nice coincedence for Mr. Upshaw.

I’ve always thought we should figure out a way to get a big-man recruit and his parents into a room, and bring in the following to introduce themselves by saying the following things:
I’m Patrick Ewing. I graduated with a degree in ______, I won an NCAA championship, I was a first round NBA lottery pick, and I’m a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame.
I’m Alonzo Mourning. I graduated with a degree in _______, I was a first round NBA lottery pick, and I won an NBA championship.
I’m Dikembe Mutombo. I graduated with a degree in ____________, I was a first round NBA lottery pick, and I was an honored guest of the President of the United States at a State of the Union address.
I’m Roy Hibbert. I graduated with a degree in ________, and I was a first round NBA pick.
I’m Jeff Green. I was a first round NBA lottery pick, and I'm coming back to Georgetown to earn my degree.
I’m Othella Harrington. I graduated with a degree in ________, I was a first round NBA pick and I will be your position coach.
I’m John Thompson (Pops). I have a graduate degree in Education, I won an NCAA championship, I am a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, and I changed how college basketball was played.
How does a recruit not commit right on the spot???

because the room is in McDonough..... (kidding....sorta...) So sad and true ;D If i was a recruit's parent I would be more impressed with Zo being on campus for events other than basketball and for being on the board. Whether they meet or not just being about to point to him giving a speech today is great.

Given our history of putting bigs in the league, I am cautiously optimistic... really think it would be a tremendous fit for both him and the team.

I have a BS from SFS. I used to run this country. They call me the Big Dog. Maybe you've heard of me? Come to Georgetown."

Might be a better move to get Monica Lewinsky to speak to Upshaw.
