I said the same about G-Money's mom and look how that turned out. Maybe I read too much into dad's comments. Almost as if we'll see what GU has to say and then we'll make a decision.

I don't see why this is so hard to reconcile. Are Georgetown fans really so simplistic that they can't see what is patently obvious: parents' involvement is generally a good thing for GU since they tend to emphasize things like education. It is no guarantee, just like every other factor in recruitment, because there are many things that go into a college choice, because we're not the only school that offers a quality education and because not every parent is interested in the same things.
I mean, really, people, is this so hard to figure out? It's not so hard to reconcile the hypothesis being true and Kyle Anderson going to UCLA.

And Kyle going to UCLA is easy to reconcile - UCLA is also an outstanding academic institution - very different from GU, but still outstanding. It's not like Kyle's going to Syracuse.

parents' involvement is generally a good thing for GU since they tend to emphasize things like education. "Generally" is the key word. As we all know, recruiting is a case-by-case situation. I don't know the Upshaws so I cannot speak as to what they regard as most important for the kid. But, generally speaking, I agree with you.

I guess I see so many kids where parental involvement is non-existant or limited to the mother only, that it's refreshing to see both parents or just the dad being a dad and taking interest in his son's future. I don't know the Upshaw's either but it seems that both parents are involved in his recruiting and he seems to be a bright, introspective young man. That being said, the dad could be fos, so you never really know.

Starting to sound like 7 footer Willie Cauley may commit to Kansas State. Might cut another contender from Upshaw's list.

No, but if Cauley goes to KSU then they won't need another 7-footer. My hunch is fit will play a big role.

Still no word on a Georgetown visit, but... twitter.com/#!/robcassidy22/status/128518295522516992 "7-footer Robert Upshaw, a California-based C, is on an a visit to Fresno State today. He will take an official visit to #KState on Nov. 4."

Sounds like Upshaw is on his official to Fresno. Let's hope Georgetown still gets a visit scheduled here before signing day.

Well, hard to imagine that he'll get the red carpet weekend treatment before signing day if we scrimmage UNC in North Carolina this weekend and then JMU at James Madison next weekend.
Will be hard to set a better impression than Louisville's Midnight Madness with a mid-week visit, imo.

Sources on Campus just spotted Upshaw near the main gates.

So the plan is simple: Warren and Upshaw commit next week, and it is on to '13 recruiting. ;D
