maryland.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1330884"I am thinking Rysheed will likely make a decision this summer, perhaps in July," said Yard. "He's a very family-oriented kid, and I truthfully don't see him going too far from home. Rysheed won't be going to the west coast or way down south. "The schools he talks about the most are Maryland, Villanova, and Temple. The other schools in contact are LaSalle, Drexel, Kentucky, and Rutgers.

if true, who's our '13 PG target if not 'sheed??? To be determined... In my opinion JT3 doesn't like this type of guard. He didn't offer Semaj Christon(some pundits are now touting him as a 5-star player) even though it was reported the kid liked G'town a lot. According to reports in this thread Rysheed has been on campus twice, the staff has recently been out to see him play but no Hoya offer has been reported. I'd love to see Jordan become a Hoya but if the coach prefers a different type of guard I'm fine with that too..

I'm not fine with it. If you are a program that often struggles to score with a balanced attack--it helps to have a player who can create offense for the team and more importantly can take advantage of superior defense that team plays by getting them some cheap points in transition. Throw in the ability to handle a press and you have the extra points that Hoyas often don't get. Those points win the games Georgetown often loses and to have an athletic guy in backcourt makes your already tough defense even better.
With Pops-it was the failure to land elite SF after Reggie Williams that held his teams back and dont' want PG to be the same with III. Now I have no problem if he doesn't get Jordan if he prefers another--but to ignore the position isn't way to go. For instance--if Pops landed a Chris Jackson or Kenny Anderson instead of Joey Brown--I'm fairly confident Alonzo Mourning sees a Final 4 or at least another Sweet 16 but that's just my take--and to support it--look what happened when Iverson fell into his lap?

RDF, I could not agree with you more. They need a guard like this next year unless Markel comes on strong for the rest of the year. Smith-Reviera is a score like Freeman and not a PG.

I don't believe JT3 is ignoring the PG position I just think he would rather have a PG/guard who shoots it well 1st and foremost. To me it's not a coincidence that Tyler Ennis has an offer but Rysheed doesn't, why DSR is coming and Christon is not. Just my opinion

Is Ennis a better shooter than Jordan? Is that well established? If so, is Jordan a poor shooter? There are some things that can be improved with practice. I'm with RDF. I want a jet, particularly one who is an established leader, plays good defense and has good size.

Ennis is also smaller. I suspect GU is still strong in this despite the article above.

Obviously our offense requires a PG that can shoot. I prefer Jordan not just because of his length and play making ability but also because JTIII is very good at developing the 3-point shot of his players. Then, when all else fails, Rysheed can make a play. Also, he's Jabril's boy so hopefully we can land him.

I wouldn't be surprised if we're not in contention for Rysheed. As I recall, he didn't seem particularly enthused about his visit.

Either did jabril and that worked out just fine. Besides, I think rysheed actually enjoyed his visit from what I remember

I just wanted to bump the thread. If anyone has any updated info on Rysheed please add. Rysheed should be our #1 target in the class of '13. Especially if the recruiting gods smile on us and we land Nerlens Noel.......................

Especially if the recruiting gods smile on us and we land Nerlens Noel....................... Temple is currently leading for him--their inclusion to Big East has been a big boost for their recruiting (makes sense) and out of the local teams-Maryland has shown more interest and is after him harder then Hoyas--who aren't really showing much interest. Saw somewhere else that Harrison Twins should be considered targets for Georgetown. Hopefully the program isn't thinking that--because those 2 have no interest in Georgetown. Having spoken with them and asking them about Georgetown and their reply and more importantly how they responded-Georgetown shouldn't waste the time with them.

RDF, Which PGs are the Hoyas recruiting the hardest? It is gonna suck having to play against Rysheed 1-3 times a year. Does JT3 believe that DSR, JT55 and Markel will be enough?

He recruited an All-American PG in Chris Wright and gave him big minutes every game he was healthy for four years, so I would say most certainly.

Would not be surprised if Under Armour was an underlying part of this recruitment. Rysheed has participated in multiple Under Armour events and Temple and Maryland sponsored by...you guessed it.
