I have heard a lot of talk on other threads about how the committee uses the RPI as an excuse, and I tend to agree. A team in a major conference has built in advantage over the mid majors. There are scenarios where losing at UNC is better than beating a mid major conference foe at home. Maryland is of course the poster child this season. All this talk about them making it at 7 - 9 when anyone with a set of eyes knows they don't deserve to be there. If they beat Clemson today are we suddenly supposed to think that they are a great team? I think someone said today that they could lose to Clemson and still get in because they beat Duke twice. This would of course make a mockery of the regular season, and cause a great amount of rightful ill will towards the power brokers.

Maryland is a joke, and doesn't even deserve to be in the NCAA's. The ACC is a joke, save for the 3 top teams, who are beatable. The rest of the ACC is mediocre at best.
