I don’t see him doing much until Junior year at least..It’s going to be a huuuge jump in competition playing HM ball vs what he was facing in Florida. Would be a perfect candidate for a redshirt but it seems we don’t do those things for whatever reason Lol

I’m sure there are some but I can’t think of any. Add to the fact that he hasn’t been playing at anything close to this level and you figure he needs an adjustment period. If it happens before then awesome but if not that’s fine as well…The kid needs time to get bigger stronger and learn what he can and can’t do against HM players...

I'm hopeful that Trey can come in and hit some jumpers in spot big man minutes next year. That may be asking too much off the bat, but I'd love to see him carve out a role as a stretch big man with Marcus and then let Noah and Jessie handle the dirty work down low. I'd also love to see a repeat of early in the 2012-2013 season when we were the only team in basketball other than the Utah Jazz to start 4 players over 6'8.

Nice tweet from Trey's Mom. Well done young man. And you are coming into a very exciting basketball scene at GU. Wishing you and your family all the very best.

Has Trey said anything on social media about being in DC? Seems like most of the incoming class are on campus already, are walk-ons allowed to come early (before registration) as well?

As of now Scholarships are just a year to year thing, might be a situation like Caprio last year, where one is available now so he gets one for now, but understands that if we need it then he will not receive it going forward. This happens all the time, Louisville did it a couple years ago with Kyle Kuric who was on Scholarship for his first 3 years, but was able to "give up" his scholarship since he wasn't a "recruited player" and so not a counter even though he got a scholarship for most of his career.

Why not just assume Trey is going to stay on scholarship?

Why not just assume Trey is going to stay on scholarship? He probably will but if we end up with a scholarship crunch, he can easily return to walk-on status and give us another scholarship level D-1 player.

SO can anybody confirm whether or not Trey is going to play on the hilltop next year I personally would be shocked if Trey Mourning transfers with Ewing as the Head Coach. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure PE Sr. is his Godfather and Zo and Ewing Sr. are still extremely close. Also Agau transfer has opened up a good amount of playing time at the 4.

Depending on how good Marcus is this season as how ready Sodom is to back up Jessie I could see Mourning getting a solid 20+ mins at the 4 and 5 total.

Well I don't think his plan was to enter the draft ... whether or not he's transferring, he's likely still a full-time college student.
