I've never seen him play before, but... is there any shot the Hoyas could get in the mix here? bit.ly/mxz78f- He's a SEC/Big 10 veteran, and apparently a really bright kid.
- He was Austin's PG at DeMatha, so I'm guessing it might be attractive for him to come back home.
- We conveniently have that open spot this season, and a HUGE need for some dependable minutes at the 1.
Obviously it's a pretty recent development, but it seems like something that might be worth a look.

An NCAA rule allows players who finish their undergraduate reqirements to transfer to another school and play immediately. That is the case for Peterson, a 3.4 gpa student who will work on his master’s degree at his new school.

Not sure you really want a one year rental player who sounds like they want significant time.

I don't know how good he is, but if he has a good handle it might be something to look into. Perfect situation we get a back up point guard for next year and next year only so it doesn't affect any of our recruiting and we have a legitimate back up point guard.

JTIII has been privately raving about Markel to anyone who will listen and feels really good about what he will bring to the team next season.
With that said, Peterson is okay and would be a good backup.

HSB, ditto! This guy would not take up a '12 scholarship and would be an experienced back-up just in case.

"One thing that could make Iowa less appealing to Peterson is that he desperately wants to play in the NCAA Tournament before his college eligibility expires."
So how does that make Texas A&M, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Boston College any more appealing? Of the five there's only one that seems to have better chance of getting a bid.
Jeff Peterson, Georgetown has many exciting professional degree opportunities. Check us out before making a hasty decision about your future.

If he hadn't reneged on his commitment to Princeton in 2006, he probably would have already been in the NCAAs! Oh, hindsight.

I would assume the scholarship and free college education probably was better trade off but now he's got a "free year" figures it might be fun to play somewhere he can experience NCAA's. Besides--anyone who had to play for Todd Lickliter and that Butler "way" garbage deserves to get the extra season.

He's apparently going to Florida State.
