sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/basketball/mens/news/story?id=6630806Leron Black (Memphis/ White Station) PF, 6-7, 190 pounds Black is a long, athletic forward who has continued to improve. His ability to handle the ball and knock down midrange open shots is at the top of the list and although he must continue to build his game in the shooting department, he is definitely on the right track. He runs the floor like a deer and will dunk it on all clear paths to the rim. Black attacks the glass on both ends and is a threat to go coast to coast, if not brought under control. He also showed a nice turn shot over his left shoulder in the low post. Black plays with great energy, has terrific upside and Georgetown, Marquette, Memphis, Tennessee, Auburn and Kentucky have all taken notice.

Hard for me to get too excited about a 2014 grad. Know we have to get onto someone early but this guy is just entering soph class of HS.

Hard for US to take notice, but as we know, the earlier you establish contact with some players, the more they appreciate it when it is decision time.

He is also the size of many recruits that walk onto college campuses 3 years later.
I am not at all worried that we are on him. In this day an age, if you are not on the elite prospects early and hard, you aren't getting them. (Unless you go to $$U)

He's also Memphis Tiger Tarik Black's younger brother. Sorry if that dampens the enthusiasm a little bit.

He's also Memphis Tiger Tarik Black's younger brother. Sorry if that dampens the enthusiasm a little bit. When I first read that he was from Memphis I immediately made this connection. If he plays anything like his brother, I want him. But I too doubt that we can pry him away from Memphis...........

FROM ESPN RUMORS:
LeRon Black hasn't had a difficult time getting schools interested in him. In fact, the toughest part of his recruiting process will probably be the part where he has to decide between the colleges that want him.
At 6-foot-7 and 180-pounds, the youngster figures to bring size, athleticism and a comfortable presence around the glass to whichever program lands him. According to Scout.com, Black has no set timetable for a decision at the moment, though he is shedding a little insight on some of the top teams that are pursuing him.
Memphis, Georgetown, Kentucky and Missouri are a few of the contenders for the player ranked No. 22 overall in the 2014 class. Black has taken unofficial visits to Lexington and Columbia already. Meanwhile, Josh Pastner and John Thompson III are making a strong push in this race as well. On top of that, Connecticut, Kansas and Tennessee are also on the radar.

List is filled with schools not named Georgetown. Don't think so.

Decommitted from Baylor. Wonder if we get involved again. Did Baylor's check bounce? Or is Cal giving him a better offer?
