What do we think? Knock off UCONN and we're in

Knock off UConn and we are on the bubble but I really don't know if we're in. I would say unfortunately no because our RPI, even with a miracle win against UConn, would probably only be around 70. And that won't get it done.

But three top 50 wins all on the road or on neutral courts is damn good. Also, 10 wins in big east.

We at the very LEAST have to make it to the final...AND have a good showing...
Anything less, we're on the outside, looking in...

Seriously, if we go to the finals, that would be a WIN against UConn and probably Cuse on neutral courts.
Are you telling me, that a 11-9 record with an RPI that would be in the low 60s if not lower (58ish) would not get a bid?

I hope you don't honestly believe that a win over Seton Hall and a win over UCONN would be enough... The Georgetown name ain't that good, son...

We at the very LEAST have to make it to the final...AND have a good showing... Anything less, we're on the outside, looking in... There are many scenarios where just beating UConn would do it. No one can deal in absolutes right now with so many games left. Making it to the finals is a lock. That's two "road" Top 25 RPI wins, most likely. And it'd be something like five Top 50 RPI wins on the road -- name me another bubble team with a resume that way.

Over an 8-8 or 7-9 ACC team that may win one or two in their tourney? Over Southern Illinois and some other mid-majors that might sneak in? I would love for the Hoyas to get in...but I know what we have to do for that to happen...and unless we make it to the final, it will probably not be enough...

I think we are getting just a tad ahead of ourselves here. I, for one, intend to refrain from bubble speculation until we actually beat UConn. Which won't happen unless AI and a few friends show up in Hoya unis (and are permitted to play).

I really feel getting to the finals is the answer, but right now we have to focus on UConn, beating is a little too big to overlook. Also, after these last 6 agmes, I will just take being in that conversation on Sunday at 6pm.

The RPI is the SAT of stats. That needs to be in the 40's for an at large team to get consideration. It's automatic bid or bust.

Not this year man - everyone knows how screwed up the new RPI system is, waaaaay too weighted to help the mid-majors...

After watching the last 6 games, I've never seen a team with such a lack of urgency. And then, in the last 5 minutes something seemed to click. I hope they realize now that they need to play 100% all game because they don't have the guns to hang with UConn if they go about it half assed.

There are many scenarios in which we beat UConn and we're in. There are also some which we beat them and we don't get in.
Help is on the way, GO RUTGERS.

I swear, RPI is so overrated. The committee points to RPI when its convenient and looks away when it isnt. When they want to take Maryland over Wichita state, theyll point to RPI and say "Look, Maryland has a much higher RPI" of course they do, theyre playing highly ranked teams all the time. But when someone wants to point to Marylands 7-9 conference record, the committee wants to look the other way.
The committee has favorite teams, teams they want to see in the tourney... They can manipulate stats a bit to get those teams help.
I think if we beat UConn were on the bubble, but have a pretty good chance... if we win 2 more, were golden.
