hoopniks.com/usa-basketball-17u-trials-finalist-roster-breakdownStephen Domingo, 6’-7”, 205, 2013, St. Ignatius (CA): A long and slender wing forward, Domingo had his offensive game cooking during the first five practice session. With a handle that could make many guards envious, Domingo’s long arms and set-up from a catch and shoot standpoint is difficult to stop. He added an extra dimension of slashing near the hoop when matched up against smaller opponents and showed some bounce when needed. Domingo’s long range shooting is only matched by Frankamp is this group, and Domingo is quite likely the best distance shooter as his long arms elevate the ball over defenders. Sounds like a great find by the coaching staff. However, I’m discouraged by these reports: He's long, runs well (doesn't have great hops), and doesn't have great explosion. But his biggest deficiency is his lack of strength. Domingo will need to add a lot of strength if he isn't going to redshirt. His top 30 ranking has to be based on his potential, not production against other high school players.

Yep.
Although I know Dakari Johnson is a longshot no matter what, the line "Dakari Johnson isn't taking an active role in his recruitment..." Hmm...

Can we officially get excited about this recruit now? How many Gtown players have made the USA 17-u team under JT3? I'm guessing not many.

Hell yeah. I'm officially very excited. He's going to be a GREAT addition.
As for his recruiting endeavors...we don't have space for these guys! But keep it up anyway. It always works out.

Congrats to Domingo on making the team. It seems like there have been a lot of positive reports on him recently. Hopefully some of the FIBA games will be online or on TV.

I don't think it can be overstated how much of an accomplishment it is for Domingo to make the team considering the competition he faced at his position. You had guys like Rondae Jefferson, Shaqquan Aaron, Justin Jackson, Robert Hubbs, Dwayne Morgan, Theo Pinson, etc... vying for spots at the swing position and Domingo made it and they didn't. He had to earn it and that he did should be very encouraging for Hoya fans.

Awesome! The kid deserves a higher page-count thread than Noel.

Hopefully, he can take a spike in the rankings who cares? Rankings mean nothing. Ask Jabril, or Greg, or Jeff, or Roy. Or even Chris and Austin

Hopefully, he can take a spike in the rankings who cares? I continue to be amazed at the dismissal of recruiting ranking and team rankings by so many on this board. A stupid position to take.

Rankings mean nothing. Ask Jabril, or Greg, or Jeff, or Roy. Or even Chris and Austin Eh meaning nothing is a bit harsh. If you consistently get kids ranked high, you will consistently end up with good teams. Will some kids flame out? Of course. Will some kids come from nowhere? Obviously. But don't try and tell me that having a team full of highly ranked players over a long period of time will mean nothing. That's simply not true.
