If you believe him, if the Hoyas can win two in NYC, they may well be dancing. I found this surprising, since with the late season swoon (collapse?) I thought we'd need at least three to get in. sports.espn.go.com/ncb/champweek2005/news/story?id=2008596As crazy as it seems to think a team that hasn't won since Feb 12 has a run in them, I was at the Providence game on Saturday and thought the offense was flowing as smoothly as it has all season. If the team had gotten ANY rebounding, that game was ours. So if we can keep up the offensive efficiency and hit the glass, there's no reason we can't win tonight and at least give UConn a decent game. If we do that, we may get a long look. Having said that, the draw is a killer. I think UConn is playing like a Final Four lock at the moment. If we were playing for a matchup against any of the other Big East teams, I'd be more confident. UConn is really good and we don't match up with them well at all.

It's likely two and in.
Two wins and a subsequent loss makes us 5-5 in last ten, with a decent RPI and road/nuetral wins versus Pitt, Nova, UConn, Davidson in Top 100 and home wins versus WVU and ND in Top 100.

If we beat the Hall, we can hang our hats on the "hard to beat a team three times" rule vs. UConn. We need some bangers though.

If we beat the Hall, we can hang our hats on the "hard to beat a team three times" rule vs. UConn. We need some bangers though. I have been thinking about this rule all week. It hurt us at the BET in 2001, perhaps it can help us this year. Well, unless we magically run into Rutgers during the tournament somehow.

guru is exactly right though - UConn is a horrendous matchup for us - they are too big and strong inside - unless we can find a way to neutralize boone on the boards and albinueva on the boards and in the paint, we are f-ed!

Plus they've already surpassed the 3 times in a row rule since they've beaten us something like ten times in a row already. It would take a miracle for us to beat them (a perfect game from the Hoyas and a horrendous game from UConn), especially now that Anderson is coming back. They have too many weapons for us to handle especially when we're tired from the night before. Don't mean to be a downer, though, I really hope we can string a few together.

It hurts that tonight's game was probably the first time many of committee members have seen us play. We did not look good tonight against a bad team.
Nonetheless, we won. We're still alive. It'll take a lot to get us into the tourney, but at least we're still alive.

We will need a miracle unfortunately. UConn is just unbelievable now and we are a comparative weakling. But it is still nice to win.

I am just happy for the guys that this sreak is over, the pressure is off and now we can reign 3's on the Huskies. They had a lot to play for last game, if we can catch them flat-footed and hit the3 consistently you never know.

I agree with Guru. I would much rather be playing Syracuse, BC, Villanova or Pitt. UConn is playing lights out right now, and is a terrible match-up for us even on our best day. A win tomorrow would be a far greater upset than our win over Syracuse a few years back.
