twitter.com/#!/TarikElBashir/status/61496312247484417 Tarik is reporting and stating that the school has confirmed that Hollis is testing the Waters by placing his name in the NBA draft. He will not hire an agent and will retain his eligibility.

Makes sense for him. Nothing to lose and he gets some information about his chances.
EDIT: Didn't know you can only declare and come back once. In that case...hmmmmm

Whatever, he'll get an opinion on what he needs to work on, and he'll be back next year. You're only allowed to declare/come back one time, so it's interesting he'd doing that after the 2nd year. Of course, if he improves enough to actually jump after his junior year, I wouldn't be that opposed to that outcome.

Dumb move. The only impression that he'll make is "not pro material". It won't be "keep an eye on this one for next year" as I'm sure is what he must believe the benefit is on doing this.

Wait, so he's entering today, April 22nd, and only has until Sunday the 24th to pull his name? This doesn't sound so good...

In that case...hmmmmm He came a semester early, and posters on casualhoya.com are saying he's on track to graduate in 3 years, so I think you can remove the "hmmmm". Doing an evaluation declare doesn't seem like the worst thing in the world under those circumstances. Like most people, I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell he'll get drafted in the first round this year, so not too worried about this.

I have a buddy who's close to the hoyas (he's an agent) tell me a few weeks ago that Vee and Hollis were both definitely leaving. I knew it made sense for Vee, but was confused about Hollis. Hopefully he had slightly bad information and this is what it meant with regards to Hollis.
Snowball's chance in hell of going in the first round? There is no chance he would get drafted first or second round this year, period.

I am not saying that he is going, but everyone who cares about Hoya basketball should be concerned by this. Now that he's in, the sharks will most definitely start circling and telling him that he is better than he is and trying to convince him that his time is now.
I hope he comes back but unlike everyone else I am not optimistic. This is one of the most shallow drafts in years talent-wise, and next year's draft is going to be loaded.

At this point in his career, hollis is further from being ready than dajuan summers was. have to wonder what part of this decision has to do with simply getting his name out there so that he's on the nba's radar.
