All-Big East caliber - Hollis has the talent, hopefully it is now his time to shine.

Same thing that we all see.
Let's put it this way: Alot of people on this board are worried about replacing Austin's scoring.
But Austin, while he will play in the league I believe, will go in the second round.
Hollis has lottery pick potential.

He would have been a lottery pick this year, if III had played him where he should have not at the four. His mom always says he is a guard not a forward.

Disagree with this post. Hollis needed time, and wanted to start, get on the floor and play major minutes. Knowing that, and knowing he wasn't displacing any of the three perimeter guys, what would you have rather done?

The author makes nice points. I just want to see a solid and consistent season out of our leader-to-be. He hasn't been consistent throughout. Add to that the pressure of having to be the main scorer and a press-breaker. He needs to set the tone for the rest of the team.

He would have been a lottery pick this year, if III had played him where he should have not at the four. Why? Just like Summers, offensively Hollis is better off playing bigger slower guys so he can shake them for threes and occasionally take them off the dribble. He'll have a harder time getting shots off against quick guards because he can't consistently post or create openings off the dribble. He'd play the same role on offense but against a tougher defensive matchup. I've said this a ton of times, but while the team is better off with Hollis at the 3 (but probably not at the 2), his stats won't be.

Before Bronxitos says it he has to see it. Bronxitos has not seen enough brilliance to say he is an all conference player. He is inconsistent until further notice.

Sniff is an altruistic version of Bronxitos Before Bronxitos says it he has to see it. Sniff has not seen enough brilliance to say he is an all conference player. He is inconsistent until further notice. Sniff?

While Hollis has been a nice player for us, to my admittedly untrained eye, he has yet to display lottery level talent on the court. Again, I hope you are correct on the potential.

Most of the photos of the most improved candidates are pretty strong, and then there's Hollis in a tinkerbell pose. Ouch.

Lottery is a big stretch, but he has some NBA caliber skills to go along with good size for a 2/3. He needs to tighten up his handle and finishing - you just don't see him taking difficult shots very often, because he didn't have to. Now he has to. We'll see what he does with it.

The good news is that he knows he needs to develop his handle to become viable at the 2. He really wants to become a 2 and believes he should be a 2 so he will work to improve those weaknesses. I'm really looking forward to what Hollis does next year.
On that note, I hope Coach is showing every player Kemba's improvement this offseason. They can all improve they just need to work on their weaknesses and up their confidence.

He would have been a lottery pick this year, if III had played him where he should have not at the four. His mom always says he is a guard not a forward. How did his position (if that even means anything for guys other than point guards and centers in our system) hold him back at all? It would have been one thing if 3 had forced him to play with his back to the basket. However, all 3 did was put other similar players (primarily Austin, our leading scorer and best player) on the court at the same time as Hollis. That did not prevent Hollis from getting ANY scoring chances. It is not like Hollis had a problem getting good looks from the perimeter. I am very curious- if 3 had played Hollis at the "2" or "3" positions, how do people envision that his game would have been different? I am not trying to argue- I just want to comprehend the contrary position. Thanks.

I meant that Hollis should have been the second option behind Austin, not fourth or fifth option and he should have taken some of Clark's minutes last year.

We would've been severally boned if hollis went to the NBA this off season. Maybe we'd have more success last year but we'd be screwed for this upcoming year then.
