I've only been to one game at MCI (most of my games were at Capital/USAir) and I was elsewhere for the rest of the day so I didn't get to do much in the area.
For my Clemson brethren on Tigernet who are coming up for the ACC this week, what are the places to be sure to hit for food and drinks and the ones to be sure to avoid?
I've also heard a rumor that the ACC wont allow arena beer sales for conference tourneys if anyone happens to be going.
If anyone has a lead on any tickets, my girlfriend in Baltimore wants to go pull against the Terps Thursday too.
I'm sure I'll catch it with both barrels from the clutter police and the ACC bashers. C'est la vie.

Fado is always slammed on gamedays, and RFD is putting on a big PR press around the city all week, so they'll likely have a huge crowd also.
Gordon Biersch is a good alternative, and if you can get in without a huge wait, Matchbox has good beers and good food. District Chophouse is another good bet for both food and microbrews.

Tiger, still just your girlfriend? Have you popped the question at the Jefferson Memorial yet? Waiting for the cherry blossoms?

Tiger, still just your girlfriend? Have you popped the question at the Jefferson Memorial yet? Waiting for the cherry blossoms? Sometime between the 18th and 27th of the month. I got roundtrip from GSP-Dulles for $123 on Independence. Still planning on the Jefferson Memorial unless both the weather and blossoms aren't cooperating. We're going to spend at least a day or two in DC and the rest of the time in Baltimore.

Matchbox has good beers and good food. MINI-BURGERS!! No beer at MCI? That's criminal. Thankfully MCI security does not do pat downs...flasks and airline bottles both work well.

MCI is the easiest place in the world to sneak stuff into...well Conte is pretty close too.
Actually the toughest I've seen is Continental Airlines arena in Jersey. They do the patdown and are very tough.
Mini-burgers are money. JUst get there early and grab a seat at the bar and enjoy.

No beer at MCI? That's criminal. Thankfully MCI security does not do pat downs...flasks and airline bottles both work well. SC bottles for a little while longer too (SC is the only state left with minibottles mandatory in bars.) The constitutional amendment passed to allow minibottles to be dropped but last I heard the implementing legislation (whats going to replace minibottles and all the other details) hasnt passed yet. They may make one size bottle offlimits from liquor stores now and make it the required bottle that bars serve from. There's another argument now on whether bars should be able to buy straight from liquor distributors (now they must buy from a list of approved liquor stores.)

Tiger, you also might want to check out The Irish Channel on the corner of H & 5th (block and a half from MCI). It's a local favorite of Chinatown and mine, you know, seeing as how its about 40 feet from the side door to our building.
Good food, good beer, good Irish staff, pretty much good times all around.
