give the hoya faithful credit they were loud the whole time...best hoya environment i've seen in years. definitely drowned out the cuse noise but from someone that was there....there were a TON of em

When you say there were a ton of Orange fans, was it lots of pockets, or whole sections?
Agree as well that the Orange contingent didn't seem as loud, but perhaps that's because there were more Hoya fans to help offset.

they did a good job of keeping a decent amount out of the lower bowl but the 200's and 400's might have well been a cuse home game. I may be exagerrating but it really could have only been 60-40 hoya vs cuse fans. And yes we definitely offset the noise from the rafters from that trash. Like i said i really was impressed with the atmosphere today it was great. Thank you to all the attendees who made noise the whole time. But man i was dismayed that despite the AD's best efforts there were a ton of that scum. the "this is our house" chants from them outside afterwards will haunt my dreams tonight

Lots of Orange in the upper deck, but only one large section (presumably the 240 allotted). The rest were pockets here and there. Multiple boxes full of Orange. Very minimal scattered Orange in the lower bowl. Whatever was there in the upper deck was there through scalpers or through Stubhub sellers (not mutually exclusive) or by Syracuse supporters donating to the Hoya Hoop Club.
Frankly I did not notice them much until the end of the game when they were predictably obscene and obnoxious.

Frankly I did not notice them much until the end of the game when they were predictably obscene and obnoxious. Unfortunately their color is obscene and obnoxious enough to annoy me. There were only 2-4 seats per Cuse pocket but there were way too many, which is way too bad because there were a lot of Georgetown friends that were unable to get tickets. As far as their noise goes they were more or less silenced, even when we were down. Unfortunately neither student section ever got coordinated, even within themselves. PS I hope I get my voice back before Monday

I am still angry that there were so many of them. I walked around the arena and felt heckled. I revel in that at the many road games I attend, but at home, it is not a feeling with which I am comfortable. I very nearly lost it after tha game when they were chanting on the escalators coming down from the 400 level. I sit in 107 and there are 2 seats that EVERY game, there are opposing fans in. DO NOT sell your tickets to EVERY game on stubhub. Who are you and why do you ruin my life like this?
I will say, I wanted to snag an extra gray out shirt, and so I shouted across to a SUcks fan in the next section, "can I have your shirt, I know you don't want it", and he was kind enough to not only throw it over to me, but to make sure it was size medium. however, the rest of them are worthless sub-humans.

Don't want to get it stirred up again, but until gu builds an on campus smaller arena yesterday is about as good as it will be. If the hoyas are not as good (which I expect to be the case next year) that keeps the casual fan home, leaving more tix for the Syracuse/west Virginia/ ucon trash to get in large numbers. I was at the wva game and it felt like an away game at times, especially with an 11am start and students on break. Not fun waiting for The m

they wouldn't be cheering in Metro after the games-PITT, WVU and SUCKs, if we had won. they all have great road following.

we need to sell out all the clubs with season ticket holders. the lower nowl is already sold out, having others fans in the nose bleeds doesn't effect the atmosphere. the clubs are under $600 a season, we need to own them. just cut out Starbucks for the season, same cost.

It was definitely a more pro-Hoya environment than last year. There was less Orange in the lower bowl for sure.
Still more Orange than expected, but overall, a big improvement from last year. And if we won, then it wouldn't have mattered.

Sitting in the 400s felt like a neutral court game--there was more orange than I would have liked, and they were loud, but not so many as to dominate the crowd when the Hoyas were doing well.

Looking down from up in the nosebleeds isay less than 200 in the lower bowl discounting the team tickets behind the bench and may be less. the 200s had a greater percentage but less than 20% of the total. yes they did have a couple of orange boxes not much you can do about that especially when box owners are selling the tickets. I thought the 400s was easily 60/40 Georgetown with a lot of students with older parents. First time for me at Verizon loved the place and will be back soon.

It is not generally box owners selling their tickets. Rather, those boxes are owned by companies who are primarily purchasing for the Caps and the Wizards. Often those boxes are empty for Hoya games. Usually those boxes are targeted by Syracuse alums who work at those firms and then filled up with their friends. In some small way, you have to respect a firm that would reserve a box for the janitor.

Let's Go Orange sounds a whole lot like Let's Go Hoyas. That's why their cheers could not be heard. Everytime they started one we would just keep saying Hoyas and it would die down.
I would like to know the financial feasability of doing this for our major opponents. We know that Cuse is always a sell out and Duke as well. I don't know about UConn or WVA. Also, what are the chances we get these games on Saturdays.
