We may be a dangerous 8 seed in the tourney.
Feel really badly for chris. Wish his teammates had shown more fire after his injury.
This season was fun while it lasted. Parts, anyway.

Just hoping Wright is able to play at some point--because if he's not--this not only will be a terrible way for him to end his career--it's unwatchable basketball.

According to twitter, broken hand, so I wouldn't expect Chris to play Saturday.

Well we have three games to figure out how to play without Chris. Easier said then done. Jt III needs to examine how he replaces Chris in the lineup. It probably is not as simple as Starks and eve splitting the time. He is going to have to replace the scoring, the leadership and the intangibles.
This was the type of game I'd wished I'd seen the hockey line up change or jt iii picking tup a tech. Something to try and ignite the team , crowd , pa announcer etc.
Please coach benimon isn't the answer when you need to replace good ball handeling, no turnovers and good scoring, please.

Just feel sick for Chris---and hope he keeps his head up.
As for the team--time to dump "small ball" go traditional. It's time to go Julian, Nate, Hollis, Jason, and Austin. Starks needs to grow up and quit being so timid on the court--because he's needed to step it up. Sanford will be needed now too--and one thing I've always said about sports--if you stick it out--your chance to show yourself will be there. Might be a small window but he'll get to prove to coach/everyone that he's deserving of more time.
It could make team stronger if Chris is able to return-but realistically, I'm prepared to see a Hoya team without Wright rest of year---just so he can focus on rehabbing correctly and if he comes back--it's a tremendous lift--but rather see him heal correctly and take time he needs to be healthy--his health is more important then rushing him back because team isn't prepared to play without him--that is on coach/players to step up and do the job--not a young man who is injured.

assuming Starks starts, is Vee the first guard off the bench?
I think HT should start now and have JC come off the bench

He is going to have to replace the scoring, the leadership and the intangibles. Unfortunately, neither JTIII nor any other coach can do this. You just don't replace all the things that a senior Chris Wright brings. All we can do is roll with the kids we have.

I know it's not traditional and we can't start this way, but I'd like to see a lot of Jason/Free/Hollis/Lubick/Vaughn....we'll have to work to get it into the front court for sure, but once we're in our offense, we should be interchangeable, to a degree.

I can't think Markel starts over Hollis. think he'll be damn good, but he's just not ready.
We will not lose on senior day to that team on our home floor. not happening. Let's go.

No disrespect to Chris at all-but as fans we can feel badly for him--III's got to get his team together ASAP. Injuries have happened. I watched Notre Dame handle the Harangody injury with some great coaching, Brey really deserved the COY last year imo for how he was able to alter how they played to fit his personnel and give his team best chance to win, same goes for Michigan State-who lost Kalin Lucas in the NCAA tournament---and took it all the way to Final Four. Robbie Hummel is out and Purdue is flourishing and did last year to Sweet 16.
Nobody cares what injuries/excuses (legit or not) you have in competition--so time to focus on Syracuse and regroup because if program thinks like fans--they might as well call home and cancel rest of season--because you can't win feeling badly for a player. Honoring Chris the best way would be to play as hard as he does--and get after it on the court!

I'm not really sure thats true and I think we have seen evidence that III doesn't believe in this philosophy either. Chris is a senior, thats probably not going to the NBA next season. This is his last chance and playing on partially broken hand(which is what it would be if he rushed back) isn't going to cause life threatening damage. I would be willing to bet my life that finishing out this season is more important to him than making sure his hand is a 100% recovered. This is his last chance. Thats probably more important than his hand right now. He'll never get another chance to play in the BET or the NCAA tournament. III also had Patrick Ewing Jr playing on a broken wrist and DaJuan Summers on a broken ankle to finish the 2007 season. As long as Chris is willing and able to play, III's going to let him. We'll see what happens, but I don't see either III or Chris taking their time with this injury. It goes against both of their natures'.

Syracuse doesn't play any sort of press typically. I would expect we could have Austin and Jason bring the ball up and run the offense.
