I can't say I hate UCONNvicts as much as SUcks, but they are like 1A to SUcks' 1. They area a slimier program, though.

gotta say WVa is higher on my hatred list than UConn - that said Calhoun is the worst and second on the list after jimmy a hole.

Ever since the pasting UConn gave us in 98-99, which was capped by a Jake Voskuhl middle finger to the student section, and the 10-year drought until 07, UConn's been up there with 'Nova and WVU for hated programs.
'Cuse is and will always be numero uno in that department, but Conn is definitely in the next tier.

Coach: 1 Calhoun - runs a dirty program, is a bleep. How about you button the top button of your shirt or lose some weight? 2 Jimmy deleted - epitome of 'entitlement'. voice annoys the hell out of me. has been known to play criminals. 3 mr track suit - come on, have some self respect. also known to make out with player on court. 4 dixon - mostly because pitt has been good year in and year out. nothing really bad to say about him. i do feel bad for him - he has got to have the single worst hair in the BE.
Fans - 1 - cuse - no explination needed. this year's anger about not getting seats in the verizon center is absurd. I'm sure there will still be about 1000 there though. 2 - WVa SOOOO close to cuse. not sure i can seperate the hatred of 1 over the other. 3 - Pitt - very annoying in verizon center; not exactly respectful. That said there is a HUGE break between 1 /2 and the rest. 4 - UConn - they cheer for the coach...

UConn is pretty clear second place hatred for me, after the Cuse and above Pitt.

I don't quite get Pitt in this mix. No complaints about Dixon, and maybe we see different things, but I've never found Pitt fans to be anything but downright pleasant compared to the opposition filth we see in Verizon most of the time. Basically, just been a good, clean series with them.

UConn- Hate the Coach and his dirty program Jim Calhoun is bad for the game of college basketball. If he were punished (we can all dream) and forced out and UConn became irrelevant as a college basketball program as a result it would be good for Georgetown, good for the Big East, and good for the sport as a whole and well worth the cost. His past successes and his continued presence on the sideline make a mockery of the college game. I don't want to beat UConn, I want them to just disappear.

Anyone have a prediction how this game goes? Does JTIII aim to give Kemba the Marshon Brooks treatment (get his, and defend the rest tough), or aim to force him into tough shots or defer to his teammates?
I think our improved interior and perimeter defense will be a huge key in this game. We'll have to get after defensive rebounds like we did in the second half of the Marquette game, and limit UConn's perimeter guys to contested shots. They don't turn the ball over very much, but they also are not great shooters (34% from three, 46% from two) so d-rebounding will be our best chance for stops and possible runouts.

This is going to be a very difficult game. We are clearly the underdog. Uconn played their best half of ball to closeout Providence on sunday. Despite our improving defense i'm very worried about playing them in man and we have clearly shown we still have major problems in any kind of zone. whether it's CW or JC on Kemba they must take away his ability to go right, and he loves to take the elbow extended three off a Oriaki screen. Lamb has been very quiet for them the last couple of games but can explode at any time both from outside and with penetration. I just think this will be a very difficult matchup for us in Hartford. We need the offense to come alive for a full forty mins. Its been very suspect of late.

Yeah, UConn is impossible to figure out. They beat Texas on the road when they were playing really well, and then lost to Syracuse at home when they were playing very poorly. Beating them will require us to play a prodding, methodical game. Make them frustrated and undisciplined. Would love to see an old-fashioned 60-56 game.
