slow-playing Christon is just dumb IMO.

The good news is that we will know difinitively by Septeber 20th....unlike our 2011 class where the Ochefu debacle occurred fat later, we should still have time to make some recruiting adjustments if need be. Ochefu was a '12 kid who committed early--he didn't hurt Hoyas ability to recruit other kids at all.

slow-playing Christon is just dumb IMO. III is in WV watching him play today--so that's good news for those who think of Christon highly.

Just seems that we had a late committing class...hopefully some chips fall in place a little earlier this year.

Just wanted to give Ochefu some credit for being upfront and like the kid a lot--just not fond of his decision but on to newer/bigger things.

Any new word on Semaj? I love this kids game.
Also "One More Chance" is the greatest hip hop song ever. Simply because it changed the game. All rappers had to step up there games after the 2 remixes with 2 completely different flows................

Still think he is ours, if we extend an offer. twitter.com/#!/FriarBasketball/status/92639941493927936 I think we should.

I like him too but heres my question. If? big if, we land Kyle Anderson, do we continue to recruit Semaj or do we go after Nate Britt assuming we lead on both players list? Or do we go after both?
If we could only have one, I'd take Britt although Semaj looks like he could play both back court positions.
Right now we only have 1 point guard on the roster in Starks and he'll be a senior when Britt would be a freshman and is Kyle a 1-or-2-and-done.

why do hoyatalkers place such lofty expectations on our PG's? i believe the only point guard to meet or exceed expectations since AI was JWall and even he was almost forced to walk the plank his senior year.
I'm all for offerring Semaj...but let's harness our expectations a bit.

Unless Britt commits and stops looking around you take this kid STAT. Looks like a NBA player to Bronxitos aka Edgar Cayce. He should not have any bearing on what Anderson does because it looks like this kid can play 1 or the 2 while Anderson probably can swing 1-3. I like him too but heres my question. If? big if, we land Kyle Anderson, do we continue to recruit Semaj or do we go after Nate Britt assuming we lead on both players list? Or do we go after both? Semaj Christon is a talent, but again, this might be trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Kid has many tools, but lacks the one that matters most in the Georgetown offense. He can't shoot.
Point guards in the Georgetown offense are not required to break down opponents and drive and dish. Guards who thrive off that game and struggle from the outside will struggle in our offense, in my opinion (see: Jabril Trawick).
It surprises me that III continually recruits these shutterbug, ball dominant point guards when it's clear that what we need is a big, vanilla shooting point guard (i.e.: Ben Hansborough, Jon Scheyer, Jon Wallace) to open up the lane for cutters, drain 3's, and walk the ball up past half-court.
I think, given the offense that we run, DSR would be a much better fit than Robinson or Christon.

It's not necessarily about the players being point guards but being talented players and no matter how you look at it, you at least need quick guards (generally point guards) to guard the opponents quick guards.

You dont pass on this kid. The shooting slow footed point guards we have had in the past we need to get away from. This kid should be a Hoya, he is that good. why do hoyatalkers place such lofty expectations on our PG's? i believe the only point guard to meet or exceed expectations since AI was JWall and even he was almost forced to walk the plank his senior year. Hey, I'm all for landing this kid, but I also want Nate Britt to be a Hoya as well.
If indeed this is Hollis's last season as a Hoya then I think the scholarship situation wont be a factor.

in addition to it being a question of available schollarships...equally important is what our starting line up might look like with so many high level guards and how we distribute playing time. if semaj is good enough to be a starter like many suggest....we'd likely be looking at a 3 guard starting line up by 2014 consisting of jabril, semaj and either kyle or nate (would highly doubt we get both). i would be fine with either scenario. add to that that otto porter will also occupy a starting role and all we are left with is room for a big....in a perfect world - Noel.

Hmmm, is it possible that we didn't give him a committable offer when he last visited and hence he's open now to more schools entering the picture?
Seems like we were on him early and he was feeling the love and vice versa but something changed after that last visit.

Kid is superior to any guard locally and it's a joke if they slow play him for Robinson. Robinson doesn't belong in same league when talking about what is needed (athleticism/defense/speed) and the "winner" label that those who trump for him have ignores his teammates--he's out there himself? Sure.

I'm under the assumption that we've been slow playing him for Anderson. I think JT3 is fine with just getting Anderson in this class and not adding another guard.(all hypothetical) I think we'd be just fine with Markel and Jabril to go along side Anderson. It seems to me that DSR, Robinson, and Semaj are all guys we were looking at more as back ups if we don't get Anderson even though you could land both. I think we've been trying to not scare off Anderson. It's possible we've been waiting to go in on another guard until after Anderson commits. You never can really tell with the staff.
