How is this young man ranked by Rivals? Not that this is important.

I like how the Twerp fans are wishing us luck in the NIT after this news.
I wonder if any one of them has ever been provided with a definition of the word "irony"?
I so want to troll that board right now, but it's not worth the money.
Don't listen to any of it from the couch burners, Greg.
We're happy you're a Hoya! Welcome to Georgetown!

It bears repeating.... Maryland SUCKS! Greg, you've already proven that your decision-making is spot-on and you haven't even played a minute for your new team! Welcome to the Hilltop kid!

I think what he meant was "Good luck FROM the NIT", which will become a UMd habit over the next few years as they become even less relevant in the worlds of recruiting and college bball in general.

Hollis has stated he's a 2G---or at least he thinks he is--and one thing I know about players--if they think they are something--you are best suited putting them there--you'll get most out of them. Hollis needs to work on his game--but he's able to dribble to space and get his jumper off which is something that will be easier for him at 2G against smaller defenders most of the time.

From ESPN's recruiting, I'll summarize what they have to say. Strengths: Was unknown until the summer prior to his senior year. Narrow body, perimeter player. Decent shot blocker. Weaknesses: Quite thin, and not that physical. Bottom Line: Has a lot of upside, but might not be ready to contribute immediately. Regarding Whittington being considered skinny...the kid just grew 2 inches this past year and isn't sure he's stopped growing. Once the kid stops growing....I wouldn't be surprised if by his sophmore year he's coming in at 6'9" - 215 lbs or so.

NIT would be an upgrade from this year's Terp squad, however, so maybe they're aspiring to that level now.

Uh, wasn't Kevin Durant (or still is) skinny? By the way quick question, did we recruit Durant?

Congrats Greg--welcome to the team. You are coming in at a great time and have a great opportunity to be a part of a very special team over the next few years.

Welcome to the Hoyas Greg! Will he be playing behind Bolden? I hope not, I love our recruits but Bolden is soft and did not play well this season.

Welcome, good luck, enjoy the playground that is DC= our playground:)
just leafing through some youtube clips, noticed that Pops turned up in a vid from the state semis, which Oakland Mills won. Gary turned up at the Finals, and they lost. I'm just saying... kids game looks good, definitely playing out of position on D in the hs games, gonna be interesting to see where he fits w his multi-skill toolkit

Are there any schols left for Porter...or any word on Porter? There's an entire thread on Porter in the Recruiting section of the board. This thread is about welcoming the newest Hoya.

I am slightly concerned that he committed to us on his first visit with out talking it over with his coach. Hopefully he talked it over with his parents. On the one hand it could be a good thing. He really wants to be here and fell in love kind of like how greg committed to us on his second visit with out visiting the other 3 schools he planned to visit. But it could also mean he made a rash decision and that a school could get in his ear and be like "come on, at least come visit us you've only seen one school let us show you what we have to offer."
I'm hoping it's the former, but we've been burned by recruits before. I'm glad he's a hoya and I hope he stays that way.

Coach was quoted as saying he is really happy for GW to be at GU. Both JT's have been to multiple GW games. This was not a surprise from nowhere.
