Yeah, this thread happened one month ago. Seems pretty silly now, doesn't it? And by silly, I'm referring to HoyaSouth and the others predicting a losing in-conference record, early exit from the tournament, JT3 getting fired, Georgetown getting booted from the Big East conference, the Hoyas folding their basketball program.... They're winning, no one is happier than I am. JTIII did what he is paid to do. Make adjustments and not stick his head in the sand(like he normally does). The proof is in the mid season swoons. This means nothing if they get a #2 seed and get bounced out of the tourney before the first tourney wknd is out. I contend he made changes because he felt the heat and heard the "fire JTIII" chants. I'm happy, not ecstatic. His recent tourney record gives me reason to pause. From your post, it's easy to see that just about everyone IS happier than you. You still hate the coach, and it's killing you to see us do well now. You've got at least one friend on the board who alerted you to the fact that you got called out, which prompted you to make a half-hearted attempt (if that) at trying to complement the team and staff and seem like an actual Georgetown fan, and came up woefully short. The only people that were chanting for JTIII to go were you and your troll friends who haven't been seen on this board for a month now. What I can tell you is this: no one will be happier than you when we eventually do lose. And we'll be fully expecting your real return to the board when we do. Until then, do us all a favor and take your negativity elsewhere.

Thank God we've got Hoya South! We'd still be losing without him.

He sat Hollis and promoted Nate. WHo saw that coming? None of you? That's my point. GOing along with his trends, no one expected that. He made a change that was spurred on by something? I wonder what? Maybe the fact that the season was going down the tubes. He's doing better, he felt the heat; so he did something. That's a fact. And that's all I wanted him to do. I'll save all the praise until the season's over. At the end of the day, if he got the most out of this bunch I'll give him all the praise he'll deserves. Message boards are for debate, not "drink the blue kool-aid" sessions.

Wow. Classic example of how one's preconceived notions affect how one interprets facts. He made changes not because he's a good coach, but because he heard several people on this board (who generally didn't suggest tactical changes but wanted us to prematurely age or get finance degrees). His tourney record (7-4 if I'm not mistaken) gives one "reason to pause." Also, nice way to drop snide critiques in what ostensibly is supposed to be a concession that he is doing a good job. Basically I read this to mean the trolls are coming right back out when this win streak ends. I said recent tourney record. If you're satisfied with the last three seasons then you're the problem. Nothings been accomplished. Let's grade when the smoke clears. I've been duped long enough thinking that they would make some noise in the NCAA's. At this pace, they're headed for a 2 or 3 seed. What will they do with it? If they get bounced out of the first round again, well....

Bottom line, he made changes that he normally didn't make. He saw the season was about to be doomed. I praise him for making adjustments midstream, like good coaches do. It begs the question, what happened during the last three seasons when the annual swan dive occurred? Did he have an epiphany this season? No. He finally learned.

There's really not enough time in the world to deal with petty morons like you. But honestly, have you not followed the Hoyas long enough to remember the midseason lineup adjustments he made involving Darrel Owens and Patrick Ewing - both those players moved to the 6th man position in mid-season. So no - he didn't finally learn. You're just too dumb to notice.

What will they do with it? If they get bounced out of the first round again, well.... Well, what? Teams get bounced in the first round. It happens. It's asinine to make your coaching success decisions based on a single-elimination tournament, especially when the same coach got the team to its first Final Four in more than twenty years. Oh, but wait! That was FOUR years ago, not THREE! All the difference in the world! If Georgetown tanks and doesn't win another game - and I'm willing to bet that this won't happen - they will be 20-12. That's a comparable record to last year after losing a lottery pick. And it will have happened in what is pretty clearly the toughest conference in the country. The list of teams who have won one game in both of the last two years is fourteen strong. Duke, Kansas, Missouri, Pitt, Purdue, Syracuse, Texas A&M, and Wisconsin are likely to make the tourney this year, and Georgetown has a 2-1 record against them so far. Gonzaga, Maryland, Michigan State, Xavier, and Washington are probably missing the tourney this year. Single-game elims make success into a sieve of Eratosthenes. You can be legalistic all you like, but this team has done remarkably well so far.
