I know that praise from "some radio sports guy" probably isn't overly criticial to the sanity of most of you, but I thought you would appreciate hearing this:
In a discussion of how good the SEC is, Larry Vettel's view was good, not great. He pointed out that the SEC east is a quality division this season, but that is offset by the tremendously weak SEC west this season. (That's kind of ironic, since typically the East is stronger in football, but this year it wasn't even close as the West was much tougher than the east) In any case, as people were debating the SEC and then other conferences, he came out and minced no words. There is one great conference. And that's the Big East. No one else is even close. "You could take the 5th, 6th or 7th team from the BE and they would be instant title contenders in any other conference." After a little bit of discussion, he did backtrack a tad, by saying "aside from Duke." But still, the point is exactly what we all already know and that's that the BE is so tough and so deep. There is no question as to what is the toughest conference.
I am sure you will all sleep better knowing this. But at least you enjoyed hearing it.
