Coach K saying that Kyrie Irving could be done for the year. Tough break if that's the case. I at least wanted Duke to put a beatdown on Maryland two times this season. I suppose that pushes Dawkins into the starting lineup and makes Nolan the point guard. T. Thornton is the one true pg left on the team if Irving can't go which means he should get a lot more time now. K was asked "could" Kyrie be done for the year and he said yes he "could" be done for the year and some outlets picked up on that. But most reports out of Durham are saying they will be careful with Kyrie but expect him to be back in the saddle sometime in early/mid January. the out for the year scenario is a 2% scenario.

I know this may be heresy to say, but I doubt the quality of the Mizzou win over the long haul of the season. Mizzou has plenty of ability, but they don't use it to their advantage. The 40 minutes of hell stuff is all well and good, but they are chuckers offensively so they give possessions right back. A team that can withstand the blistering pressure and melt the clock will take care of Mizzou.
Think a team like ND could present real problems for them, and Vandy fits into that mould even if they do not have the ability that a ND might.

So, are you saying we just had an off night and didnt really play that well against Missouri? They sure looked pretty good in reeling off 100 points against a quality Big East team. But, you are saying, ND would handle them better than us?

No - I am saying that the Mizzou win won't look as good in 3 months as it does now. I think we played well and deserve credit for that.
I think there are other teams, like ND, that matchup better with Mizzou than we do.

Missouri will most definitely be a 25-50 RPI team at the end of the season. I dont doubt that at all. That's really all that matters. The committee will say, "Wow, Gtown went to KC and beat a top 25-50 RPI team. That's about as a good a quality win as you can have. " I bet you wont find teams that win semi-road/road games better than that outside maybe the top 5-10 in America.

He doesn't need to return until March. Check out Duke's schedule: espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/schedule/_/id/150/duke-blue-devilsNo tough opponents the rest of the way! Maybe Temple, but it's at Duke... Maybe at NCSt, at UNC or at Maryland, which has done o.k. against Duke recently.

This year the ACC is pretty bad. Duke is about to enter the easy part of their schedule. UNC has the front line to give them trouble but unless their guard play improves exponentially in the next 2 weeks no one in conference will give them a tough game.

Anything that took more than 2 hours was the end of the world ;D My understanding is until you hear the word surgery he will be back this year. They will be and with the ACC have a great opportunity to be slow and careful with the toe.
