I agree with most, RDF. As for Vaughn lacking, I'm not sure that's the case. It's more his inconsistency. Sometimes he's a pretty good shot blocker, sometimes he's a bystander. He needs to bring it every game, all the time. There are bench players waiting for the opportunity.

He needs to bring it every game, all the time. There are bench players waiting for the opportunity. He's got good timing, but he's not a presence -- he blocks some shots but he really doesn't alter as many as other shotblockers. Our interior D is pretty terrible right now. You can either make it better through playing other players or personal improvement, or as RDF posits, you can keep the play from getting there as much as possible by pressuring the ball. I'd like to see more half court pressure as well. Gamble a bit.

He's been a presence sometimes, but few and far. One of the keys to the season is consistency on both sides of the court. JV is not bringing it. As a senior, I'm hoping he'll turn that around.

Henry is certainly improved from the past two years. But don't you suppose to get better every year. I appreciate the good will towards our players but Henry is still an average big east player at best. Offensively i still hold my breath when he has the ball at the top of the key. The reality of the situation is HS, JB, JV are simply average. This teams missing link is a true bruising center with game. Personally in the limited minutes ive seen him Ive also been impressed with Vee. He should have a Lets Go thread as well.

Julian is playing like Julian has in the past. Nothing has changed. What I see that has changed is that we are very perimeter oriented. Not that we're guard heavy, but we shoot a ton of 3's. Julian needs space to get his shot off. He's not Alonzo in the post. If we were to get more penetration from our guards, he'd be much more effective. We need to make the bigs from other squads play some help defense. When that happens Julian will get better shots. Right now, it seems like he is getting the ball in the post and having to beat his man one on one. He's a position guy, not an above the rim player. Princeton and the G'town offense are about spacing. Better spacing will make him more effective.

It is great to see Henry growing not only as a basketball player, but more importantly, as a person. Sometimes we all just need to listen to our moms! Merry Christmas to Henry's Mom.

I guess WaPo is already predicting that we'll lose tonight, given our "(10-2)" record listed in this article. Tarik's been good, though, so I'll cut him a break on this one.

Very happy for Henry and his mom. As for most young men raised by a single mom, his goal is to someday make her life a lot better by bettering himself, so that in the very least she does not have to worry about his financial welfare anymore. A kid with his latent talent(until this year) though, dreams of much more of course. To get to the next level will require decipline, hard work and listening to his coaches. From his comments it looks like he is now ready to do all those things which has so far this year been a good thing for the team and himself. The Hoyas will need him to show big again tonight because Memphis big men will run the floor in hopes of getting easy dunks on the break. He and Nate can run with them. Julian will not be able to to keep that pace too long.

Great article (sans the 10-2 reference).
Very happy for Henry. Hey he is still a kid, he is maturing. I'm sure we all needed a talking or two from our mom's during college.
Does Henry's mom come to the games? Baltimore isn't that far. I feel a Henry's Mom cheer coming on...
Is that sacrilage? I think Jeff's mom would be okay with it.

JTIII quote from that article: "This year, he's realized that basketball is important to him."
Could have sworn he said the exact same thing about Austin last year. Coach needs some new material.

Hollis is playing well, but I'd love to see that huge jump that we've seen out of Austin & Henry -- I think he has it in him for next year as he'll be 2nd fiddle to only Jason.

Tonight was a perfect sign of improvement from Henry---he wasn't at his best right off the bat--but the work he's already put in earned Coach's trust--kept him out there--and positive plays happened.
1 minor pet peeve though---DUNK THE BALL on those pick n roll plays. Go to the rim strong and the officials will reward it--and the hoop will be made most of the time.
Henry's mom--STANDING OVATION. I love that it's not "old fashioned" to just earn a role on a team.
KUSEF will be smiling tonight! Keep it up Hank!!!

It is obvious that the offense has finally clicked for Henry. He missed a couple finishes down low last night, but he did a LOT of other good things that made up for it. How about 5 assists?!?!?!?!
