Soooo...Hoyas are up 7-6 at the half. Anyone out there? Hopefully folks are at the game - I couldn't make it but seems like a great one.

Hi 98hoya, looks like you and I are the only ones following the game, how sad that everyone has lost interest.

Quick drive by Lehigh - TD and they lead 13-7

Watching on channelsurfing.net also. That missed field goal was a real momentum shifter. I might have gone for it there - we were really moving the ball.

Don't mind going for it on 4th and inches even on your own side of the field but very odd to do it in shotgun formation. Great hold we are still right in this

Glad you guys are out there. I'm on channelsurfing.net too. The D is playing pretty well, but offense is really a struggle. I don't know if it's a coaching, skill issue, or an inexperience issue, but something has really changed between the beginning of the season and now.
Our offense sort of reminds me of a perpetual 4th quarter of a pre-season game in the NFL: everyone seems a little nervous and the timing is all wrong.

I hate that they run shotgun in that position, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on it. My guess is that they know our OL isn't big enough to get a surge, so they need to be a little cute to try to get positive yardage. Obviously, the play failed, but I'm glad the coach at least tried.

How is it that with our new OC, we're back to running what appears to me at least to be that same awful offense from last year? It's all swing passes and screens and when we try to run a 5-stop drop pass, it looks like an all-out blitz with how much pressure they put on us.

I'm here too. This channelsurfing feed may be the worst one yet.
I'd add to 98hoya's comments above to say that not infrequently, the offense looks like a 4th quarter preseason game two-minute drill in particular. Some truly questionable run/pass imbalance, particularly in the first half. At one point, I think Kempf was 3 for 14 and yet they'd only run the ball a handful of times.

The defense, meanwhile, looks like they're out to prove that missing assignments isn't just something they do in the classroom. You give up a 25-yard play there? THAT 25-yard play? Really? After being gifted that monster penalty?
It's one thing to be simply overpowered, as we've been in the past. But aren't we supposed to at the very least be smarter than our PL opponents?

Well put. Just one more blech in a season - no, a whole coaching era - in a parade of hundreds of them. Bring in Marist. Then, bring on...whatever the future holds.

Is it too soon to start talking about replacing the coaching staff?

Hoyadad,
I think (although please correct me if I'm wrong if anyone knows different) that the reason no one discusses the elephant in the room is that the board rules dictate that you can't do it.

But you can safely assume its a question on everyone's mind.

Another bummer in a season of mostly bummers. But let's beat Marist, and at least finish the season on a positive note.
Also, home attendance was 2,819, which is not bad considering the team is mired in an ugly six-game losing streak. However, anybody able to report on how accurate this number is, and how many of these were Georgetown fans?

I got there a bit late but it was a gorgeous afternoon for football.
Attendance was pretty good. big contingent from LU. I assume their ability to clinch the PL title may have driven their showing. Overall though, they were loud in the stands, (understandably) we weren't in the 2nd half.
It was really annoying watching the same route (to the TE or Split end) split the safeties and provide 3-4 big plays for LU in the 2nd half. Not sure why we didn't adjust but that zone was open alot. Not enough pressure either.
Blah, still thinking my revised projections jinxed this time. please beat marist. if we don't, there will be some a changes a coming.
