What's the point of this thread? Let the negativity start before the season even commences... It's like the Jessie Sapp thread that was started. Pointless. That kid played hard (and I'm biased because he's one of my favorite Hoyas). And Jessie just posted on facebook that he is "speechless" and thinks it's "crazy my hoya fans feel that way". Near the end of his message, he writes "some things I just chose not to speak on". I really don't understand the point of some of these threads (it's one thing to spew negative comments when you're caught up in the moment of a loss - I know I have - it's another thing to say you aren't getting your hopes up before the season even starts. And it's quite another thing to bash Jessie (or Dajuan or any other Hoya) a couple years after they left the hilltop). Not sure how many of you have Jesse friended on facebook but that is a prime example of how our student athletes (past and present) read these forums. Even if you are trying to say something non-offensive, watch how you format it because anything can be taken wrongly out of context. The Jessie Sapp thread looks a lot worse then it really is in the original context of the recruiting thread but whats done is done.

True. Jessie should know that most of the posters here do not share the hyperbolic view expressed in that thread he read, but you cannot please everybody all the time. I had never heard anyone refer to Jessie as a "legend". He was an integral part of our recent success (and failures) as a team.
I respect that he has chosen to remain silent about what happened to the team during his senior season.

I also dont understand this thread, I mean the season cant start quick enough for me. As everyone knows I can be negative and reactionary from time to time but you have to go into the season with some hope and fight!
There are many unknowns heading into this year as there is with any year. But what we do know is we will have some experienced guards and a very good coach. That alone is positive.
Will the recuits perform? We we work hard on D and get back that old school toughness? Will that leader emerge? All good questions but ones that will be answered. Cant wait for the season to start!

I have high hopes AND expectations. I LOVE senior-led teams -- with guys jumping for the pros, there aren't all that many of them every year, and the ones that you see often have very strong years. I think experience is very valuable, and we have 2 guys in Wright and Freeman at talent levels you often see (rightly or wrongly) leave college early to try to go pro. I'm psyched for a great year, and won't be discouraged if there are a few early blips as the lineup and chemistry is formulated. I really would love to see Nate emerge as starter material, because while I think this team could be very good as is, if Nate becomes a legit presence at the 4, everybody else can re-settle into their more comfortable positions. At that point, I'd think our potential would be through the roof.
GO HOYAS!
