More love for Kemba Walker. Ugh. Really hating that dood right now.
Can a legitimate all-conference team contain no 4s and 5s?

Only Jeremy Hazell is keeping Kemba Walker from being the most overrated BE player.

This is exactly how I expect the coaches to vote too. if I were voting I'd switch louisville and seton hall, but besides that it's not bad. I'd drop walker and Joseph from the first team for maybe pope and butler, but fischer, gibbs, and freeman are pretty much locks for being on there.

Great call on Hazell SF!
I think an all-conference team should be 5 guys representing the 5 positions on the floor.

Per Tarik El-Bashir: Austin = preseason POY and GU 4th in poll behind Pitt, Nova and Cuse.
(so reality is the same as the story Lizziebeth posted)

bigeast.org/News/tabid/435/Article/214542/Pittsburgh-Chosen-As-BIG-EAST-Hoops-Favorite.aspx Pts. 1. Pittsburgh (12) 222 2. Villanova (1) 208 3. Syracuse (2) 187 4. Georgetown 173 5. West Virginia 164 6. St. John’s (1) 145 7. Notre Dame 123 8. Louisville 121 Marquette 121 10. Connecticut 113 11. Seton Hall 104 12. Cincinnati 91 13. USF 54 14. Providence 36 15. Rutgers 32 16. DePaul 26 What annoys me is this clearly is the same as the coaches poll that was used to create the schedule months ago with pitino picking st. john's to win the league. Things have changed since then. I would've liked it if coaches had revoted more recently.

Wow, the Big East looks really small this year - guards galore.
Also, look at that height/weight comparison between Austin and Hazell.

Big East starting nice tradition, letting Austin Freeman address the media and coaches after Commish John Marinatto "I wish all of you the best of luck this season, except, of course, when you play the Hoyas." -- Austin Freeman

It's funny to think that just about any combination of players that Georgetown could start would be able to beat that BE First Team head-to-head.
Hollis at the 4? Hell, why not make him our center!

Was just thinking the same thing when I looked at the All-BE teams. Wow. Rick Jackson and Yancy Gates (and maybe Herb Pope if he doesn't punch anyone in the nuts) seem to be the only legit big guys. It is a guard's league this year.

G'town's Thompson: "Social media is scary."
Coach Thompson's response as to whether or not he's going to restrict his players' social media: "Not yet."

It is a guard's league this year. I think Yarou from Villanova and Kilicili (sp?) from WVU could be break out big guys this year. But overall, yes, it does seem like there are less quality big guys than you might expect. Seems like that's around the country though, and not just the Big East.

The Big East is wide open this year. I keep hearing this is Pitt's year, but their top 4 guys, Gilbert Brown, Ashton Gibbs, Wanamaker, and Dante Taylor, are not even as good as our top 4 (freeman, clark, wright, vaughn).
We should be right there in the top 4 of the Big East by the end of the season.
