An 8% cut in the military's budget? Obama is crazy! This means that he wants us to lose our wars! He must be a Muslim terrorist lover, or at the very least he HATES FREEDOM!!!!! Oh, wait, it was the UK's Conservative Party that did that....... www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-11570593I feel a bit dirty saying this, but hats off to Cameron. Unlike either of the American parties, Cameron has a comprehensive, detailed plan to close the deficit by cutting spending AND raising taxes. His spending cuts aren't just some "boutique" cuts that look nice on paper but don't actually make much of a difference, they're real cuts to things like social services and the military. People may not like them, and these cuts probably won't help Cameron much in the next election, but they're things that have to be done. Kudos to him for having the balls to do it. A good article on the differences between Cameron and American conservatives: www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/10/12/AR2010101204748.html

The checks and balances of the US system are great, but they typically don't allow for large scale change to be done quickly...

I salute Cameron for his plan. Looking for the Democrats, as well as Republicans, to come up with a real plan for fiscal sanity.

Tony probably is still on Margaret Thatcher. I love him, but the last time he watched the news or a live sporting event was probably the '80s.
