I cant wait for another hoya season! Im thrilled that we have picked up some good recruits and some optimisim has hit this board.
This year we have to get that old school hoya swagger and toughness back. The past few years we have been very passive. Does anyone think we will pick up the defensive pressure? A press? Creating turnovers is the easiest way toward easy buckets.
I really think everything stems from attitude. I didnt like the past few editions of this team. As great as GM was maybe the team took too much of a cue from him. Too passive. If we see some edge ill be even more encouraged that this team wont suffer the same fate as the past few years.

It's the beginning of the year. There's no reason not to be optimistic about the season. We're gonna kick some ass and take some names!

I doubt we press, as much as the fanbase wants it. But you never know.
That said, if the big men step up, I have hopes our D and rebounding will be better.

I don't think we'll press much either but I expect slightly better defense. That said, can we give out some HARD fouls this year? Definitely too passive. Make em pay. Let's do this HOYAS!

For all the pursits on here, beware, the Hoyas are going to outscore, not smother, opponents this year. We have a guard dominated team with some very special offensive talents. This team will play much more like Jay Wright's Villanova squads than anything from the old Hoya days.

I'm fine with our usual defensive strategy and tactics. But it would be nice if, like just about every other team, we had a reasonably effective situational press to employ when behind in games, or when facing an inferior opponent trying to slow the game down.
