NY, I don't agree. I don't think Iowa looked good and they didn't really deserve to win. But they did win, so you have to give them that much. But I think anyone who watched that game would think that Missouri just tried a little harder than Iowa did to lose.

you're a bigger deleted than everyone on here thinks you are if you don't think that was a good win for an iowa team that had a terrible end to the regular season and had key players out due to injuries and suspensions. nobody thought they had a chance to win this game. that's why it's a good win.

I thought Missouri would win, but weren't they only a 2 or 3 point favorite? I'd hardly say that "nobody" thought Iowa had a chance to win. Big 12 is proving what RDF said months ago - they suck this year. At least Oklahoma State won.

Beating USC and Miami in succession has never meant so little.

Beating USC and Miami in succession has never meant so little. +1. I watched the first quarter of the Sun Bowl, felt like throwing up, and turned the game off.

Your national champion TCU horned frogs! What do you mean a team can end their season undefeated and not be national champions? This sport is still stupid.

That was one mediocre/awful Oklahoma team that beat Uconn by 4 TD's too.

While no Big East team had an business being in a BCS bowl, they have represented themselves reasonably well in bowl games this year - better than I expected, anyway.
Great day for the Big 10-soon-to-be-12 today. A big 0fer in five chances.

Your national champion TCU horned frogs! What do you mean a team can end their season undefeated and not be national champions? This sport is still stupid. Welcome to the CFB thread. Great first post. Only in America can a team win its conference, finish undefeated, win the Rose Bowl, finish in the Top 5, and instantly become a footnote to a redundant conversation regarding the "unfairness" and "stupidity" of "the system." Congratulations to the Frogs on a tremendous year. Although the possibility seems slim, I hope they get a couple votes for #1 in the final AP poll of the year. That was one mediocre/awful Oklahoma team that beat Uconn by 4 TD's too. The Sooners did everything they could to keep UConn in the Fiesta Bowl (kickoff return for a TD, stupid fumble by Broyles, terrible floating lobs by Landry Jones), but the Huskies were too inept to hang with Oklahoma. Really frustrating to watch for anyone rooting for the upset. I'm not sure if the Fiesta even counts as a step forward for UConn as a program -- the Huskies looked untalented and unprepared. Great day for the Big 10-soon-to-be-12 today. A big 0fer in five chances. sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5845736

This Edsall guy is Randy Shannon's light skinned/adopted brother. He'll make Maryland even more irrelevant. What a horrific program for a guy who according to Sean McDonough has UConn on the "fast track to being among the Nation's Elite". Sure he does-and Randy Shannon is a clock management wizard.

I love this. UMD fires a lifer who graduated from Maryland and who almost certainly would have stayed there forever. The reaction was significant bile. In return, they get someone who made UConn champions of the weakest BCS conference (possibly excepting the Big 10). This is what hubris gets you.

That was one mediocre/awful Oklahoma team that beat Uconn by 4 TD's too. Well, they finally figured out a way to get Oklahoma a BCS win - schedule them against an incredibly weak UConn team. If the Sooners couldn't win that one, they should be banned from the BCS.

You misunderstood my point. Sure, beating Missouri is a feather in your cap. And I understand that the end of the season slide that the Hawkeyes had, only made the win that much sweeter. So in that regard, it was a "good" win. But I presume you watched the game. It was poorly played on both sides. Like I said before, Missouri just tried to lose a little harder than Iowa did. So in that regard, it wasn't a "good" win. On Edit: Little did we know at the time, just how good a win that would be for the Big 10. Ironically, I would say the same thing about the Nittany Lion-Gator matchup. I thought both teams deserved to lose that game as well.
