6'4" F from MS has an offer from the Hoyas according to Scout article. Top 3 are as follows:
"I've received offers from Mississippi State, UTEP, South Carolina, Georgetown and Missouri," said Mychal, who is the 23rd ranked small forward in the nation by Scout.com
Three of those schools are currently at the top of his recruiting wish list.
"I like UTEP, South Carolina and Missouri," said Mychal.
He talked in detail why those three schools have made his final list.
UTEP - "UTEP is a great situation because they are losing something like 12 players. And they have good coaches coming in, Tim Floyd. I talk to him and feel comfortable with him."
South Carolina - "I really haven't talked to South Carolina's head coach because we are kind of playing phone tag with each other. But I have talked to (assistant) Coach (Neill) Berry. He's from Brandon (Mississippi). He and I got to talking and we just kind of clicked a little bit. So, I feel comfortable with him. He told me that I can come in and do my thing and start."
Missouri - "Missouri's style of play really fits my game. And they have cool coaches. (Head) Coach (Mike) Anderson and I talk. He and my mom are real cool (with each other). And I feel comfortable with him, too."

Ranked #26 wing in America by ESPN:
May, 2009: Mychal is a solid combo wing. He can play either wing position offensively. He is a solid jump shooter with range to 20 feet. Ammons can also score off the bounce, mostly using his dribble to create space for his jump shot. As Mychal continues to grow he is becoming more of a wing forward than a wing guard. He is a solid if not good basketball athlete. He is a capable rebounder for a perimeter player. Mychal has been on the big time basketball scene since he was in the eighth grade, so he is a seasoned veteran of the summer basketball atmosphere already. Defensively he is solid. He is able to use his length and size against smaller perimeter players effectively.
September, 2008: This young talented small forward has a great feel for how the game should be played. He does not force the action, allowing the flow of the game to come to him. He can and does make the 3-point shot although he excels in the middle game. When Ammons drives to the basket and pulls-up he has such great body control while he shoots over his defender. He rebounds on both ends of the floor with consistency. He handles the ball with confidence in transition or in the half court.
July, 2008: Ammons is a super smooth wing. He is a big-time scorer who rarely forces the action. He prefers to let the game come to him, and when it does, he makes something happen. He is effective off the dribble or catching and shooting. He has range to 3-point land but excels with the midrange game. Ammons can drive the ball -- he prefers to go right -- and get to the basket with regularity. When he gets in the lane he shows great body control, scoring or dishing with equal proficiency. He is a competitor and has all the tools for greatness. He is a solid defender and rebounder -- he takes pride in all aspects of his game. His shot mechanics are solid but could use a little tweaking to improve his consistency.
July, 2008: Ammons is a strong wing shooter. He is a good athlete that can get to the rim in transition. Ammons can knock down the three ball with regularity especially from the corners. He has great confidence in his shot. He is also a pretty good ball handler and defensive rebounder. Ammons is a good looking prospect especially when his jumper is falling.
February, 2008: Ammons is a 6'5'' wing who has a very good feel for the game. He has a chance to be an elite player in his class. He can score and he really has a good basketball IQ. Strength and skill development are the keys to his development over the next few years, but he has all the makings of a big-time prospect

Looks like a tweener/glue guy 4-year type to me. I'd be OK with him as long as he's not the headliner of the class. Didn't see much outside game from him, almost all of his success was going to the basket in the video...uses his strength to his advantage at the high school level. Reminds me of Sergio McClain/Dahntay Jones type, which is fine, but doesn't wow me. The Philly kid (Jabril T.) looks like he may have more upside.
