I would guess it just strengthens the ACC and doesn't hurt the BE at all. We already have a deal with ESPN.
Maybe it could lead to an ACC/BE joint network, in partnership with ESPN, to help fend off all those conference honchos at the Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, Pac 10 etc.

I think that the Big East honchos should be actively exploring some kind of partnership with the ACC. It would strengthen football and make basketball even stronger. Imagine restoring the ACC/Big East Challenge in basketball.

"So, professor, would you say it's time for everyone to panic?"
"Yes I would, Kent."

This gets more in depth: www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/07/08/AR2010070803383.htmlLooks like Fox and CBS are out of the ACC business completely. They still have that strange deal with Raycom, but I can't tell if Raycom is going to keep the ACC tournament and Duke-Carolina. If so, it's a bit weird that ESPN would pay so much and would still be blacked out from showing the most marquee stuff on the East Coast. Still, if the Big 12 and ACC schools are doubling their TV revenues, it'd be kind of nice for the Big East to get in on some of that.
