So, if I am reading the table right, the hoyas have 4 ships to give out for 2011. Ty Johnson, Rak Christmas, Myles Davis and Mikael Hopkins would be ideal.
Bishop Daniels or Jerome Seagears instead of the guards. Maybe Malcom Gilbert at the center slot. Jordan O. from Montrose also a possibilty. Thoughts??

I'm thinking 2 bigs, a SF and a guard.

Myles Davis is talking of re-classifying to '12 class. Jordan O has been overhyped a bit--he's a good kid but he's not a major target right now. Hopkins is not considering Georgetown as a favorite anymore and that is a good thing imo. He's not the type of big this program needs. They need to get tougher and more defensive oriented. He's not that.

Lots of people like Sam Thompson 6'8" wing out of Whitney Young in Chicago, who Coach was presumably out to see last Thursday. Can jump through the roof. Also Johnny O'Bryant, PF to go with Roc, though some speculation JO'B is one and done. Aggressive. HIGH motor w Jeff Green dreds. As noted elsewhere, Bishop seems like a good option 1a if we don't land Ty. Some discussion here as well- hoyatalk2.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=recruit&action=display&thread=22080

Love Johnny O. but don't see him coming. Likewise Quinn Cook. I think the best class that we realistically have a shot at right now would probably be Johnson, Thompson, Chol, Christmas, although odds are we won't bat 1.000 with that group. If we went .500 I'd be really happy, actually.

I wouldn't mind JOB as a one-and-done. There's a lot of talent in 2012 that could take that scholarship.

I think JOB is going to land at Kentucky or Ole Miss (although I would LOVE to pair him with Rak). We will have trouble getting him out of the south. Agree with RB, I also don't think we are going to land Cook. So RB's class is a pretty good "realistic ceiling" for us. I think if we land Rak and Ty, anything else is gravy really. For Thompson, I just hope JTIII is buddies with Mac Irvin (adidas anyone?). And Chol would be a nice addition if we can pry him from the west coast.

Chol seems pretty open to leaving the west coast by all accounts. Thompson has a good head on his shoulders and is going to make the decision that is best for him (academically he's a good student and basketball-wise) reports have his family close to the obamas so hey why not play in the president's backyard??
In addition, I think that we are set up well with a number of very good options if our 1 A choices don't pan out. I think we get 2 of those names at least and are in good position with our "backup" plans. I really like the way the staff has been approaching recruiting as of late. Focusing on one player and going all in on them at the expense of laying seeds with multiple people has burned them in the past. I think/hope (knock on wood!) we will be all very satisfied how our class will end up. Get it done III!

Mac Irvin is in the Nike EYBL so don't know what you mean about Adidas--not to mention that only 1 of his final 5 schools is an Adidas school (Kansas) and they also are going to land a similar player (Ben McLemore), so Hoyas have a shot. O'Bryant--Hoyas have a battle with "Dirty" South--but Kentucky is playing dance with NCAA--and eventually Cal is going to get burned, so you keep on guys they like--especially ones that can qualify like O'Bryant--let them have the Chandler types-who are sketchy academically. If you get a 1 and done frontcourt guy--this is year to do so because '12 class is LOADED with Big Men, so you have plenty of guys to offer/replace the guy leaving. As for class--RB has my ideal class athletic, defensive oriented, and that would be a great group to go with roster Hoyas will have. Bishop Daniels is one of those guys who can be a star or he could be a tease--depends on whether he develops his perimeter game and guard skills. Athletically--he's best in class at the guard position. Chasson Randle is a guy who could look harder at Georgetown too. He's got great grades and put Hoyas in top 6 and they haven't even offered yet. Agree with RB regarding Cook--and JOB is a tough get-but if Georgetown can make final 5-6 school list--they've got a shot and if they can land rest of their class in Fall--they can put all their eggs in that basket for Spring.

Out of the entire '11 class JOB and Mychael Henry were the two that I coveted the most. JOB reminds me of a more skilled Jeff Green(physically nasty) and Henry has the smoothest game of any player in the class. From what I read on these board Rak is ours to loose but we need to finish that deal. Thompson, Chol, Daniels and Ty are next in line and if we can get a class of Rak, JOB/Chol, Ty/Daniels, and Thompson. I would be satisfied..........

Wait, so if we can get a class of the 9, 19, 28 and 60 recruits in the country you'd be happy? OK, good to know. I'd like to see JTIII round out a class of people on his radar during fall signing period so we aren't again scrambling (like we've done the past 2 seasons) to find additional pieces to the puzzle. Rak's is not ours to lose. He has some pretty impressive suitors out there including, oh you know, that little school that now rules the world TEXAS. If we can get RAK, I will rejoice not just for his skill set which I, admittedly, are mostly ignorant about, but just as importantly for the fact that JTIII closed a recruit that he has been on for ages and one that is high on the national radar. we need one of those badly.

I'd be very happy with Rak, Thompson and pretty much any two other guys we are pursuing. Ty would be great, but I'm not altogether sure we really need another point guard for next season. JOB would be super, but that will be tough. Totally agree with RDF about competing with Kentucky, though. There's a good chance Kentucky will be on probation and/or Calipari gone by the time the class of 2011 sets foot on campus.
