Good luck to Jindal in 2012. A Jindal nomination would represent significant progress for the GOP if he is indeed eligible to be President. Maybe he should invite voters to look at the model public schools in his state. Regardless, it is unclear (at best) whether Obama could have lawfully called in the National Guard to take this action. www.stateline.org/live/details/story?contentId=170453

Jindal might be feeling a little better about that poorly received Republican response he gave last year after the disaster that emanated from the Oval Office last night.
It's not often you see both MSNBC and Fox News hammering quite so hard on someone for completely bolloxing* it up.
(*Yeah, I threw that in there just in case thebin is reading -- ;D )

Not just saying it because I interned there as a senior at Georgetown, either .

I officially stopped watching news networks, so I had Hell's Kitchen on after the speech (of which I only caught the last 10 minutes or so). What were they saying?

Here is MSNBC: www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2010/06/15/msnbc_trashes_obamas_address_compared_to_carter_i_dont_sense_executive_command.htmlI think you'll find similar analyses from the left at the WaPo, HuffPo, LA Times, etc. As for the right, I don't have a clip from Fox News, but here is Jonah Goldberg, who is a pretty good representative of the conservative viewpoint: www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/opedcolumnists/great_big_gusher_of_presidential_kMQL1DQwkgff5hCGMG0SjI(As for me, the only thing that really upset me was this nonsense about how we don't have any places left to drill in shallow water or on land and that's why the Deepwater Horizon was drilling where it was. Balderdash! Balderdash, I say!) Then again, it may just be that America didn't like the speech, 'cuz, heck, we just ain't got them darned smarts or book lernin' to understand what that there guy was yappin' about! www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/06/16/obama.speech.analysis/index.html?hpt=C1

We should beta-test the drilling strategy in the loon pond adjacent to the Palin estate in Alaska.

MSNBC basically wanted Obama to give the malaise speech. I doubt that would have worked out so well.
