I don't have any idea if this thread will take off, but we are heading into the very slow times of the summer. Once the NBA and NHL finals are over (and college Baseball for a handful of us), there will be nothing but boring midseason baseball going on.
Ok, so I forgot about the World Cup. That is an attraction for sure, but still, I think you see my point.
In any case, I stumbled on this question in the student newspaper yesterday and thought it was kind of interesting:
Who is the only major league baseball player with 200 or more hits and 35 or more homers in 3 consecutive seasons?
I'm sure it's googleable, but ... try to keep it honest.
And add any sports trivia questions you might have.

Just one of the more overrated players of all time. But that fight is for a past day.

Many Red Sox fans deny it.

Jim Rice? I was going to guess Chuck Klein.

Rice it is. I remember hearing arguments of whether he deserved to be in the HOF when he was selected a year or two back. I think he earned it. He was the model of consistency in the just pre-steroid era. I think I saw where he led the major leagues in something like 6 major offensive categories over a 10 year period. That's impressive. I'm not a Sox fan so I think I can offer a objective opinion.

Twice in MLB opposing teams have thrown back to back no hitters against each other. Any ideas on which teams/pitchers? I was fortunate enough as a kid to listen to one set of these.

I presume the "back-to-back against each other" means that one team was no hit one day and then returned the favor the next day. But technically, I guess it could be in consecutive games between the two teams -- which could be a month or more apart. Just curious, but I'm guessing they were probably in the same series -- thus the novelty of the event.

Got 'em both. I listened to the Astros/Reds no hitters as a kid.
