Evan Daniels evaluation of Brown from EYBL tourney in Los Angeles:
"Jabari Brown, SG, Oakland Soldiers – Prior to the game, Brown made it clear that he wanted to get the best of his So Cal rival and even posted on Twitter that players from So Cal are “soft.” Brown, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, backed up his talk with a big game.
He’s got a high level stroke with deep range. Blessed with a strong, developed frame, Brown has gotten much better attacking the rim and finishes through contact one there. His middle game is much improved as well, as he’s comfortable pulling up for jumpers from 15 to 18-feet. There’s still a ways to go with this summer, but Brown looks more and more like a burger boy."

We have done pretty well in Cali in the past. Is this kid a real possibility? If he is, how high on the pecking order would he be placed? Is he a better player than Ty or Bishop?

Reminds of Durand Johnson from Bmore.ill rather have the local guards. The DMV is a heaven for guards so why can't we stay local?

I'm all for local cats, but I'll take better cats everytime. Brown is better. Lights out shooter. Btw, Wright, Freeman, Sims, Clark and Starks are all local. I think GU stays local alot.

Brown gave list of final 7 today, Hoyas not on it. His 7 are Washington, Cal, DePaul, St. John's, Georgia Tech, Oregon and UCONN.
Kind of a bizarre list, very surprised not to see Kansas on it. St. John's all of a sudden showing up on a lot of lists.

Strange list... I'm guessing Kansas didn't offer. DePaul?

Lavin was a great recruiter at ucla so this doesn't surprise me. Plus he got serious West Coast connects.

Lavin also has immediate playing time to offer--something like 9/10 scholarships to fill this year.

Again, nothing new: Washington, Georgia Tech, Connecticut, Oregon, St. John's, DePaul and California.
Scheduled a visit for Washington September 18. I think Kansas sored on him because of his D because that was his first choice.
