Well, it's done... he's drank the KY kool-aid.
Nerlens, in the long run you don't want a program that just caters to your strengths, you want a program that will also turn your weaknesses into strengths. And with your current skillset, that place is Georgetown.

TBF sounds a bit like Cuse as well...

After all of that talk about handling the ball at the high post and everything running through the center, it's back to get out in the open floor. He's off to Kentucky (try and remember the last time you've seen a Cuse center run the floor on a break--they do it less than we do).
Sometimes I wonder how much NBA these kids actually watch. Unless you are playing for the Heat, it's not really an up and down game. Anthony Davis did far more for his stock offensively by hitting a 3 and shooting well from the FT line than he did running the floor and dunking. Nerlens would do himself well learning a post move or two before he declares for the draft. But I guess he'll wait until he gets to the league to learn that.

Hell of a job by the staff to be in a top recruit's final 3 when he wants a style play that couldn't be more different from what we run.

Let's not quite give up yet gang. With Nerlens controlling the glass together with otto, we would certainly be able to open up our game a little bit. Have faith until there is no more faith to be had.

Oh, geez, Frazier is right. That doesnt mean much of anything. Did you read the rest of the article? He also said he didnt know who he would root for if Kentucky and Ohio St met in the finals. I take that as clear cut evidence he is not going to Kentucky! Woo-hoo!!!! I mean, come on.

So Nerlens is going to Ohio State? That came out of nowhere.

Nothing means anything until he commits (or words leaks right before the commitment). I'm done speculating - this may go on for weeks!

If he wants to go to a school that really gets up and down, then he shouldn't have cut UNC. The Tar Heels were 10th in pace nationally. Kentucky is middle of the pack in pace nationally, but that's because they played very fast early in the season. In conference play, they were even slower than the Hoyas.
If he wants the offense to run through him, there's no question Georgetown is an outstanding fit. JT3 runs the offense through big men in a way that simply is absolutely not the case at Kentucky or Syracuse. Obviously there are reasons to go elsewhere, and some are other than the obviou$, but we do have our attractive points.

Seriously that quote means nothing. Every player says they want to get up and down. Not all of them commit to schools that get up and down.
I think the Hoyas will continue to evolve and continue to go faster when they can. I think the lack of a dynamic PG has hindered our ability to get up and down in addition to a de-emphasis of fast breaking. But again it's not like we don't fast break at all. We fast break several times a game. It's just not every possession.

Yeah, I don't read too much into that statement. I have never heard a recruit say, I wanna play walk it up half court basketball. I think he is saying the I wanna be active and get out and do stuff not just be a post player. I think him saying that works to our favor. I think people hear that and think of Macklin saying that. I think Macklin just got people in his ear when he got here cause you hear what he is saying now. He thanks Jt3 for making him a better post player.

No, they're not on the list anymore. But, he didn't cut them. Are you saying that UNC said they were no longer interested?
