Facts don't matter to the NCAA--you have to be able to prove it-and who is going to talk? Especially if the kid is close to this guy? The fact is anyone who is "guiding/advising" a young person wouldn't even consider Syracuse right now with all of their issues away from the court and if the guy knows basketball and was asked his opinion-he'd advise that the kid to go where he'd be utilized correctly. Again-I get Kentucky and if he ends up there--basketball wise it makes complete sense. How does "We'll use you on the wing....." make sense? Guy is one of the best shot blockers to come out of HS in decade, and he'd be on the wing of the zone? Playing time doesn't factor in-he's good enough to play anywhere from Day 1--so that isn't an issue but the things Noel has stated about Syracuse and what they've told him and then the info passed onto me--come on--if it looks like crap, smells like crap.....its......

Calipari was going to visit his mother since they hadn't met before, wouldn't look into that part of it. You are right.

According to Jeff Borzello (CBS) Noel wasn't home for the in-home with KY. Coach Cal met only with his family. Today, Noel is in attendance today the in-home with Cuse.

It's definitely a coincidence, but let's not presume Noel's guilty just yet. It may give us some color though if he ends up choosing Cuse.

I've said it before in this thread--Cuse can try all they want, but they aren't going to beat Calipari at his own game

Interesting that Randolph does a lot of retweeting current and former SU players' tweets.

I'd rather think this Cuse lover Randolph offered up a few days in Miami to Noel so Calipari wouldn't be able to work his snake oil sales pitch on Noel in front of his parents.. I can't imagine how Magoo can sit in front of parents and convince them that their son is in good hands with him and his staff...

I saw the below tweet from a Syracuse source - is it true we got an afternoon visit in? Sounds like this race is coming to a close soon!
Syracuse Basketball @psbasketball Syracuse coaches will conduct in-home visit with Nerlens Noel tonight. Kentucky visited on Tues. G'town slipped in visit this afternoon. MW

HoyaJake sent me a question about AMS Sports--well that is none other then Andy Miller's company--he's an AGENT and runs an agency that reps Kevin Garnett amongst others and it's also plastered all over Randolph's Facebook/LinkedIn accounts. But I'm sure that's just a simple coincidence.

If Noel is not willing to be home for an IN HOME visit with a school why doesn't he just drop them from consideration? I want to ask why Calipari/Kentucky would put up with that but we all know he has no backbone

He's met with kid--the in-homes are for the mom to meet with coaches--just like Boeheim did/will do and hopefully Hoya Staff got a shot--but I'd say all the coaches minus Syracuse were focused on NCAA Tournament and didn't know Nerlens was in Miami with Errol Randolph. I'd guarantee you that Cuse coaches knew where he was this past weekend.

well, sounds like staff is doing everything they can. They are-just want to make people realize what an uphill battle this is and expose the horse**** reporting Pete Thamel did in his "article" about Nerlens recruitment.

Guys i'm awfully tired of getting lip service from McDonalds All-Americans about Georgetown 'being in the race.' When are we going to win one of these damn battles?! I'm hoping that this is the one bc this would be an awfully big one. However, with the circus surrounding NN's recruitment I'm not optimistic

Very mixed review of his freshman year by Nerlen's buddy at Syracuse, Michael Carter-Williams. Quotes: "Syracuse freshman guard Michael Carter-Williams recently told Boston Globe writer Julian Benbow that the season has been difficult at times because of his lack of playing time.
Carter-Williams hasn't seen action in the NCAA Tournament so far, and hasn't played more than 8 minutes in a game since Feb. 4, when he scored 13 points in 17 minutes against St. John's." and "Williams also talked about his relationship with Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim and the team's assistants:
“It’s tough now, because I don’t get a lot of playing time, so sometimes we don’t get along,’’ he said. “But I talk to the assistant coaches and they just tell me to stay patient and stay ready.
“You don’t know with Coach Boeheim if you’re going to play one game and play 20 minutes, then the next game you don’t get off the bench. It’s tough. You try to figure him out, but it’s tough.’’ He also said it was a "great experience" so it is a mixed message as I said. But certainly interesting reading from a guy whom a lot of us believe has a pretty big part to play in this recruitment. blog.syracuse.com/orangebasketball/2012/03/syracuse_basketball_links_mich.html

So let me get this straight...
1. Noel has claimed Errol Randolph is his mentor regarding his recruitment 2. Errol Randolph is a Syracuse fan from Boston who worked at Everett prior to Nerlens transferring to Tilton. 3. Errol moved to Miami. 4. Noel just flew to Miami for a few days (around March 17-20) 5. He took a picture with Errol's kid and posted it on Twitter (so presumably he was with Errol for at least part of the trip) 6. Errol's linkdin page claims he is a "self employed basketball manager" 7. The "Company Website" link on Errol's linkedin page goes to ASM Sports. 8. ASM Sports is sports agency based out of New Jersey with an office in Atlanta. 9. Pete Thamel is either a complete idiot or there is a reason he did not disclose more about Errol's relationship to Noel.
There are a few things that wonder about this whole situation. First, I understand Errol is a Syracuse fan but is he considered a Booster? Second, who paid for Noel's flight to Miami this past weekend? Third, what exactly does Errol do and why (of ALL the potential company websites) does he link ASM Sports in his linkedin page?
I'm starting to worry not only that Noel may choose a school based upon "handlers"....but that even if he picked Georgetown (or anyone for that matter), his relationship with Errol could compromise his eligibility and prevent him from ever playing a game.
