Total hunch. Think its a great sign that right after his visit with us he crosses two off and demands in-homes from the other 2. I think he's ours unless Calashadi or Beehime can convince his mother otherwise. Believe. Otto and Greg and Jabril are ushering in a new era of long, rangy, gifted athletes. NN will follow. I like your optimism bud. I feel the same way. Oh my goodness how amazing would our defense be with NN? I'm drooling right now. It's gonna be very good without him but with him?? Game over.

when dash riley and rak xmas chose cuse over gtown it didnt really sting that much. If NN does the same after all the negative publicity going on, it will be devastating i must admit.

Haha Dashonte Riley: averaged 4 and 4 at Eastern Michigan this past season. Hmm, does Nerlens want to go to Big Man U or EMU? Tough call.

Yea, I don't get the Cuse stuff beyond the fact he has a lot of friends on the team. Good to hear Nerlens loved the team and Georgetown in general. I kind of like that Coach Cal doesn't have the final in-home. It lets Boeheim muddy the waters and maybe make both in-homes less effective. Unless Cuse is the favorite... although that's hard to imagine in that cesspool of a program.

The odd thing--Cuse staff told him as he mentioned in his blog--that he'd be used on the WING. WTF? I mean that is the single dumbest **** I've ever read. Why would you do that? He's not a wing offensive player. He's definately NOT a wing defender (I mean he could do it--but why would you want a shot blocking talent like that on the F-ing wing?)
Liking Mike Hopkins (not Mikael--Cuse assistant Mike) is a disgrace. That guy is one of the biggest low lifes on the planet. Cuse is a "Big happy family" that parties together, sleeps together, and doesn't go to classes together. It's worst fit for the kid other then having a friend on the team. He's friends with Georges Niang-so why doesn't he look into Iowa State? Hoiberg knows what to do with talent--and has NBA connections that are real unlike Cuse people who hype hot garbage (Fab Melo is considered a 2nd RD pick right now after his "great improvement" so WTF doe sthat say about big man development at Syracuse?).
Just a disgrace that a program who operates like that and led by a man who just ducks his head in the sand and is QUOTED saying "I could care less what is happening to anyone other then my family/basketball team--there could be an earthquake down the road, and as long as it doesn't effect me, I could care less". Yeah--that's where I would NEVER send my son.

I kind of like that Coach Cal doesn't have the final in-home. It lets Boeheim muddy the waters and maybe make both in-homes less effective. Hopefully it will also disrupt Boeheim enough to cause his team to lose its next game. I recall Dean Smith when recruiting Rasheed Wallace. Smith waited until AFTER the season was over before he made the trip to Rasheed's home. That's how the real legends do it. They don't go making visits to a recruit when the most important part of the season is going on. Boeheim deserves to lose just for that alone. Calipari too.

This is why if NN doesn't pick Gtown I'd prefer he choose Kentucky over that wasteland otherwise known as that ghostland behind The Wall. It would be revenge for what happened with Christmas.

Under the law of unintended consequences, Pete Thamel may have given Gu a big assist with his "article" on Noel. If the family feels the need to burnish this kid's reputation on the character front, GU becomes the only viable option.

Even more importantly, if gave JT3 and JT an opportunity to address those issues and the entire recruiting process, the people who have been involved, choice of college, development of players while at college, family atmosphere, teaching/developing the "whole man" not just the baller -- and NBA opportunities -- especially for Big Men. We owe Pete a big THANK YOU for that one!

Say someone behind the scenes offers a handler or even a family member "something" to gain an advantage, do they have to give "something" back if the recruit goes somewhere else?

no, cause they risk having a dime dropped on them. no one recruit is worth destroying the program unless you're smu.

www.nationofblue.com/john-calipari-have-home-nerlens-noel-monday-10845/“By Wednesday my mom would have already spoken to all three of the schools staffs. I’ll sit down and talk with her and I might have a decision," Noel explained to Scout.com. “I'm going to wait it out just a little bit. I think after the next week or two and after the in-home visits.”
