You must be an idiot. First off I was not suggesting that anyone in ESPN had anything to do with what he cut into his hair. I actually believe they didn't. But to say that there was absolutely no one on that set that could cut that in his hair is absolutely ridiculous. It takes a skilled barber and I'm sure they hired one to give every player there a trim who was going to appear on TV. So go ahead and hit yourself in the face again, I wouldn't mind. You're wrong. Not speculating, not guessing, I'm telling you for a fact you're wrong. You are right. You were there. You know everything. The world is now a better place. I never said that this did happen and in fact I think the theory is very far fetched. But to say its not possible because you worked there and you were "on the front lines" is pretty hilarious. Either way I would rather move on from the topic of if a freaking barber was on the set. Possible, yes. Likely, definitely not. Conversation over

I'll PM you the phone numbers of the producer, director, CP and talent producer on set yesterday and you can ask them yourself and you'll get all the verification you need.

You people honestly believe that there was some huge conspiracy to Punk Gtown? I believe they made a concerted effort to tease Kentucky fans, which is who they are marketing to. After the rumors started swirling that he was a lock for Kentucky, they threw a few fake rumors out that he might go to Georgetown to create some drama and interest for the signing day appearance. Surprise! He's going to Kentucky! YAY! I don't think it was to "Punk Gtown", I think they didn't give a crap what we thought since Georgetown is a small school with an insignificant and generally disinterested fanbase, so who cares if you dash the hopes of a few lawyers from a school in a conference with no big TV contract. We ended up getting "punked", but that's because we don't move the needle.

If ESPN didn't know ahead of time, how did they have the foresight to have his 3 UK incoming teammates there ahead of time to join him? I believe the only HS players there were Noel, Bazz, the 3 UK guys and Kyle Anderson so I'm guessing ESPN knew WELL ahead of time where each was committing. And while Telep and Daniels did not say he was definitely going to GTown, they definitely threw signals out there that he was.

Saulimon, sg going to mich st, brice johnson and another unc signee. Just more of a promotion show for the big schools

Jerami Grant, Rasheed Sulaimon, J.P. Tokoto and Brice Johnson were shown on camera in studio as well and the entire Jordan Brand Classic squad visited the facility for a reception post-show.

Here's the answer to the timing of the haircut questions: content.usatoday.com/communities/campusrivalry/post/2012/04/nerlens-noel-kentucky-syracuse-georgetown/1#.T4cuBbyt1ky"He didn't tell me what he was getting until he got in my chair," said James McDonald of Charlotte's V.I.P. Barbershop. "I'm used to doing logos and things on people's heads. A lot of people here get (Carolina) Panther logos. I was excited for him to get to play for a team of his dreams, but it was a little bittersweet for me to see my work messed up a bit (on TV) by his wearing a hoodie all day to keep it secret."

I didn't enjoy hardly any of that coverage last night, but I did giggle a bit when I saw the 3 hats in front of Nerlens when it was his turn. Our hat looked like a poo poo platter. It was almost like ESPN keeps broken in Kentucky and Syracuse hats for these announcement events. And it almost looked like a low level intern had to rush out to buy a Georgetown hat at the last minute when the producer realized they didn't have a Hoya hat in stock.
Ugh.
After last night, I felt used and abused. So dirty. Needed a shower.

As most I was disappointed, not really that we didn't get him (okay, maybe some), but last week, I didn't think we had a chance, but this week, with all the rumors, leaks, etc., I thought we had a fighting chance, and in the last five minutes I thought we had won. But all along, I was thinking about what Georgetown and a one and done had in common. From us of a certain age, it seemed like they were incompatible. It would have nice for the team to have NN, but...

Snapbacks are hot item with young people and what's funny is neutral fans and fans of Kentucky/Cuse thought he was a Hoya the minute they saw hats. I thought he was Cuse bound when they put up pics of the coaches with his 'do. That and fact they kept sneaking Cuse in as first team mentioned/talked them up quite a bit. And someone a few pages back mentioned what Michael Carter Williams did last year at Jordan Brand game with his 'do, so thought "**** *** boeheim" and was as relieved it wasn't them as disappointed it wasn't Hoyas.

As for those who speak to "ethics" in college sports, you need to understand how recruiting works. Coaches will claim another coach is dying, has Cancer, is a criminal, is leaving to take other jobs, has recruited over them, etc......and that is the NICE stuff that goes on. When you are in a multi million dollar industry and have pressure-you see how people handle it. The kids are getting used by adults who want to profit off them but claim they've "helped guide" them. Kid figures as long as I get paid--he's "helping". Well they dont' understand exchange rate-as in we're getting 6 figures--and you'll get most of it and when you turn pro-I get my cut from Agency running this charade. Kids don't understand that crap--they just figure it's fun/people want me to play there, this team wins/puts guys in league, I can go there....etc...and if you are going to talk up education-then don't waste time with guys like Noel--he's 2 years at best in college. I love Georgetown-but education is something that doesn't matter to a kid who is #1 recruit in country. He can go back to school or graduate if something happens to him injury wise-but he's in it to be a pro basketball player and I don't blame him and as a fan I love that I get to see elite players play in college--and wish he'd picked Georgetown--knowing he's not a student athlete but rather a temporary student and full time athlete. I know what Hoya program stands for-guys go to class, graduate, etc...so if they take a 1 and done--fine by me. It's just 1 guy out of entire team of 13. Maybe Frank Deford was right. Those, who heard Deford on NPR go off on the NCAA yesterday, will know what I am talking about.
