After living almost 45 years in Northern Virginia and recently enjoying watching the Hoyas on the various ESPN channels, the occasional CBS channel (regional coverage) and MASN, I'm now preparing to move to Charleston SC. Any clues as to how I can get to see as many Hoya games there as here? And how about the Redskins? All without breaking the bank?

Any clues as to how I can get to see as many Hoya games there as here? And how about the Redskins? All without breaking the bank? ESPN Full Court is pretty cheap. And ESPN360 is free. Those should help you get Hoya games that aren't on national TV. As for the Redskins, unless you have Direct TV and want to pay for the Sunday Ticket, you're probably out of luck. Best bet is probably to find a Redskins fan restaurant/bar down there that'll show the games every Sunday. I'm sure there are a few.

But only if your internet service provider carries it, right? And they've re-branded it as "ESPN3" now. Either way...enjoy Charleston, easyed.

I manage to see almost every game, but I do the sports bar thing for basketball and football, generally.
This is not cheaper, at least if you drink and/or eat more than one thing. Plus, I'm betting in Charleston, you'll need to find a pretty big sports bar to get the tv on the Hoyas.
I'd suggest going DirecTV. Not only can you do the Ticket (best thing to do is find some other big football fan and split the cost -- at your house), but while you can get ESPN Full Court, if you just get the regional sports pack (like $5/month, I think), you get MASN on there. I don't have it, but my dad has the package in SD, and then you get a ton of the early games. Virtually everything else is on ESPN something or other.

Well on the plus side if the rumors of the Tournament Georgetown's playing in this fall are true you can catch them in person in Charleston.

If you move out of the DC area and you are serious about seeing all of the games, then you have to get DirecTV.
Or you can become internet savvy and hook up your laptop to your TV.

I pay DirecTV $12.99/month for SportsPack, which gives me all the regional sports networks. The only game you would get on FullCourt that you wouldn't get on SportsPack is a CBS split coverage game. From this year, I think Kentucky-Tennessee was on CBS opposite the Notre Dame game, so you would miss that in Charleston. Otherwise, you get every TV game. Compared to the $99/109 FullCourt costs, it's a great deal.
Not a DirecTV employee or anything, just continually reminding myself why I'm paying them so much more money than I would've paid Dish.

+1 on DirecTV. I have it in the NE and it's a rare game that I don't get.

If you go to the Charleston Classic ( 3 games), you will have seen the HOYAS live about as much as half the posters.

Find a friend or relative in the DC area who will let you connect a slingbox to their dish or directtv feed. Worked for me.

Thanks for all the help. Looks like DirectTV is best to see the Hoyas but the Redskins, that's a different story because of the cost.

For the Redskins, if you can't or don't want to go with the Direct TV football package, I really recommend the NFL Red Zone channel. I think most systems have it now. They do a fantastic job of switching from game to game to show every time anyone scores, and they keep you up to date on what's happening in every game. You won't get a full Redskins game, but you'll know exactly what's going on. It's much easier than going to a sports bar, and there are no commercials either.
