"York said Georgetown, Stanford and Syracuse are some early favorites and that Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, Arizona State, USC and now Arkansas are involved after his performance last weekend at the Real Deal."

Rivals article from Adidas event:
"Gabe York: It is tough to score in more ways than York did. The class of 2012 shooting guard is a bit short for the position, but he makes up for it with big time athletic ability and an ability to shoot the ball from any area on the floor and have it go in. In his team's win, York was a one man wrecking crew. He hit from three, converted from the mid-range, and then slammed home a pair of thunderous dunks to get his teammates going. Shot selection is no doubt a growth area, but to be fair he was absolutely on fire and the occasional heat check was warranted.
Gabe York listed offers from Marquette, Stanford, Arizona, Colorado, and Miami with interest also coming in from Georgetown."

Another Rivals article, this time from Eric Bossi:
"Gabe York, SG, Compton Magic- When the class of 2012 rankings get tinkered with after the summer's end, expect the 6-foot-2 product of Orange (Calif.) Lutheran to make an appearance. A sweet shooting wing who can create space for his offense via the dribble, he's got some rise near the rim and will gladly put dunks on defenders heads. Despite missing several key players to camp, he kept the Magic rolling and the crew from Cali hasn't lost a game since early April."

Continues to impress at Adidas, from Rivals:
"Gabe York, SG, Compon Magic- It's not a matter of if the 6-foot-2 shooting guard will crack the rankings in 2012, it's a matter of how high he'll enter them. He's been nothing short of outstanding in Indy and is a leader for a crew that has now won over 30 games in a row. He can catch and shoot, go off the bounce and has athleticism to finish. He's skinny, but doesn't lack for toughness. West coast high majors already knew all about them, but he's got coaches across the country scrambling for info."

I like the kid and hope Hoyas get him, but he looks like an AZ kid to me. They're really recruiting well right now.

Depends on if you think Nick Johnson is a 1 and done and Josiah Turner is a 1 and done. If not--then Georgetown can offer as much as Arizona--and the kid has expressed a desire to play on East Coast before--likes the Big East a lot. He's explosive/efficient, athletic/competitive, has deep range and can play both guard spots. It only takes 1 player to change how your program is perceived--and York is type I'm hoping Hoyas land. Guys that can make plays/create offense when offense breaks down and also can get up and defend.

Gtown in the 25+ years the Bronxitos has been a fan has never had a player like this. I like the staff's vision. Plodders do not work.
I still want a point guard who is Derrick Phelp ish though.

True indeed god. Forgot about that fella....lol Phelps was a defensive dynamo. Stopped the ball and protected it. He was long as hades too. I just meant his look as an AZ kid. Again, if hoyas get him to visit, they have a great shot. He'd be the combo guard for '12 needed. I don't think you would be disappointed with York or DSR. York is trending right now.

Here's some info from part of the update Scout.com did with him on Friday--courtesy of a friend who sent this to me via PM:
“I’m going to try and get out to some of those Big East schools in the next couple weeks,” York said. “My coach is going to take me to see some schools. We’re going to see Georgetown, Marquette, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. So far I’ve only taken visits to UCLA, USC and I’m going to go to Washington too.”
Throughout his recruitment, York has spoken favorably about schools on his east. That said even though he’s intrigued by the opportunity to leave the West Coast, he’s not completely set on it.
“I need to look at the schools first and I want to see Washington,” York said. “I just want to keep my options open. I don’t have a specific choice for where I want to go. As of right now, I think I could see better competition in the east.”
York doesn’t plan on having too much of a drawn out recruiting process, as he should have a decision a bit before signing day.
“Hopefully I will decide before my high school season starts,” he said.
So ID--he's going to visit---he's been hearing from Hoyas since Last Summer--and mentioned them throughout and they need a player like him--and I prefer him over DSR-who is a good guard too--but give me an athletic combo over a 1 ender.

I've seen them talking about York's visit on the ND board. They are saying end of April.

Good to hear RDF. A guard and a big are essential for 2012. Hoyas lose JC and Henry and York/Parker would be a great replacement.
