Sorry about that. For some reason the game started 45 min late. Offense won.

Is that a joke? I never knew how the offense or defense could win during those games?

Was that the full team of returning players?

The banquet went late, thus the game started late. Dan Porterfield spoke for about 20 minutes. A couple of tidbits. We need 15 million to complete the Multi-Sport. They want 10 million from one donor and than will raise the next 5 million. They don't see this as a big problem once they have the 10 million in hand. They are in discussions with a potential donor and it is considered "promising". Many comments about the importance of the football team to the university. The new AD was in charge of football in Eastern Michigan and drew up a blueprint for football at Cleveland State. So it sounds like he supports football in an urban campus. He (Mr Lee the new AD) also met several times with young Mr. Parish from the team during the interview process.

Thanks for the report. I don't share the enthusiasm over the $10 million donor plan. We're roughly 5 years deep into that thinking with the basketball facility, and we're still at $0 raised. Five more years, and a $10 million threshold may become a $15 million threshold.
The easiest plan would be to make a $1.5 billion capital campaign into a $1.57 billion capital campaign and throw $70 million at the MSF and practice facility plans.

Is that a joke? I never knew how the offense or defense could win during those games? The offense scored more times than the defense stopped them. Was that the full team of returning players? Yes with some notable injuries. Hughes, Floyd, Logan, Stafford. Wayne Heimuli however was back, in a red little-contact uni.

The offense played fairly well. Kempf at QB looks pretty darn good when he has time to throw. Having Phillip and Charlie next year in the backfield should hopefully produce well. Hard to get a real feel with only around 50 players suiting up. Congrats to the 22 seniors who depart the program.
RE major donors. you'd think it'd be hard but its not. Gtown has lots of alums willing to donate large sums. We had it pre Muir with Benson but Muir wanted plans changed. I'd expect the new AD Lee to have some hopeful news on this development so i'm hopeful the MSF will be done sooner than later.

10 million gets one naming rights ( and I imagine a few tickets to football and lax games)

The offense played fairly well. Kempf at QB looks pretty darn good when he has time to throw. Having Phillip and Charlie next year in the backfield should hopefully produce well. I caught the better part of the game and here are a few quick observations:The offense had a few nice moments. They seemed to know what was expected of them--I guess that's the work of the new OC. There were several Charlie Houghton sitings. He frequently had me thinking back to his freshman year. He is fun to watch. There were a few nicely completed passes, but no WR's showed me much. It would have been nice to see Floyd (whom I really like), but DFW tells us that he is focusing on academics instead of football--no problem at all with that. But the news at receiver is not bad at all when you consider the "Slot" receivers. Keerome Lawrence is special. He is big, fast and smart. He's bigger than most LBs and as fast as the DBs. He will make a lot of plays this season. The other slot wore #2--he might have been Oldeji. He made several fine plays, but Keerome is the man at this position. Sadly, this is the same old story. Georgetown has had fine "skill" players for years, but without a quality O-Line, it really doesn't matter. And it's hard to gauge the two lines at the spring scrimmage because they are playing against Georgetown. I look for a few freshman to play a lot on both lines this season. On defense I did not see anything memorable, but I do know that Parrish and O'Donnell are fine linebackers. If the D-line can protect them, they should have big years.

Just what is that 15MM meant to go towards? Is it still actually a stadium? Each new rendering has been less ambitious and more disappointing than the last. Is there an official current rendering anywhere online?

Not sure I said that, but we'll have to wait for the roster to be posted first. And MSF 5.0 ($15M version) has not been posted that I know of, but the numbers gove me pause too.

By the way it's embarassing that national tv listings for Gtown lax games for example from the Hilltop proclaim they are playing at "Georgetown's Multi Sport Field." Why can't it be called Georgetown Field or Alumni Field until/if someone gives enough to name it?

Why can't it be called Georgetown Field or Alumni Field until/if someone gives enough to name it? Don't you know? The place where Georgetown students have gone outside to play has always been called: the Georgetown Yard.
