The Cheer was "WE ARE GEORGETOWN" not "WE ARE GEORGETOWN after wins".
We can all be as hacked off as we like. We didn't lay it on the line for the School like those young men, and the older men who coached them.
Dignity in defeat is never a bad thing. Too much practice at it may be, but let's be grown-ups here.

100% agreement.
It's very easy to be an internet tough guy and bash away at 18-22 year old kids. It's also gutless.

You should see me try to hit a layup. It's embarrassing, really.

Some people just can't help themselves. I would be ashamed , in fact I am ashamed that we have so-called fans that are so gutless. SMH ... oh well

We need more posts like this today, that will make me....well, too bummed to laugh actually, but at least smile. ;D And don't forget, there are still lots of opportunities for schadenfreude over the next few days. We can always cheer for that.

You should see me try to hit a layup. It's embarrassing, really. I'd probably trip in the lane before I even had a chance to pathetically hoist the ball in the general direction of the hoop. I laugh at the little kids in Dress Like a Hoya, but secretly I'm thinking the 6 year old would probably beat me. And well said, Elvado.

This morning my 5 year old woke me up at 6:00 a.m. because he wanted to play Nerf basketball in the kitchen. He wanted to be the Bobcats, and told me that I was the Hoyas.
I lost a 5 minute timed game 9-7 on a late three....and I was kind of trying at the end.

At least not a start I'd care to discuss publicly. Get your kid some guidance on choosing teams but other than that, you win.

Get your kid some guidance on choosing teams but other than that, you win. He's pretty much a frontrunner at this point. Took him to the afternoon session last Wednesday for his first BE Tourney, and when we got home he was the Hoyas and Golden Eagles and I was the Bulls and Red Storm.

I just read the quote in my signature over and over again when games like this happen.

Based on what I've seen on this board in the past, I actually thought the meltdown would be far worse. This isn't nearly as bad as it was for the Davidson loss. Perhaps its because we've become accustomed to huge let downs. Its either that or we've all matured some.

I just read the quote in my signature over and over again when games like this happen. I have been, too. I've even sent it around in several emails today. Thanks for having that up, Philly. It's a great one to refer to in times like these.
