We may have all been certain that the Big East was the premier basketball conference this season, but today's results speak otherwise in a big way.
GU - demolished. ND - lose (no shock here - this game figured to be a toss-up, but still it came out the wrong way) Nova - Barely survives after trailing a 15 seed most of the way. Marquette - blows a 15 point second half lead and loses.
Just bad, bad, bad.

Ehhh. Well, I'm not sure how much it actually says. I think we all realistically know Nova and Georgetown are both actually a lot better than how they played today and their competition. They just both played extremely poorly today. We will see how cuse fares as well as West Virginia and Pitt.

I know the tournament is a one-off, but you are judged by the performances in the tournament. One team having a bad day is one thing, but if they continue like this then the Big East this year is always judged by what happened now.

My question: does the GRUELING Big East Season (capped by the BET) contribute to how flat every Big East team looked yesterday.

My question: does the GRUELING Big East Season (capped by the BET) contribute to how flat every Big East team looked yesterday. I think this is a three-part question: one is physical, one is mental, one is emotional. I don't claim to even begin to know the answer, but if there is one, I think all three factors would be in play.
