Alex Poythress, 6'7 soph of Clarksville, Tenn's Northeast HS. Being recruited by most SEC schools and an offer by Vanderbilt and Notre Dame. This is a great student/athlete that the Hoyas should get involved with.

When I first saw the last name, it made me think of Olden Polynice.......I guess I looked at it a little too quickly.

Telep article this week says he has offers from Vandy and Cincinnati, interest from Alabama and Tennessee.
Telep's scouting report: "Patric Young with more offense. That was my first impression of this talented 6-7 (and growing) power forward. He’s going to be strong, skilled and a nice blend of inside with a perimeter touch. What we liked best is that he took it personal to rebound the ball and when he was in the game he commanded the glass."

I like that, if we were able to get a player that approached rebounding like Greg approached passing, that would be great! Strong and skilled in the same sentence is great! Inside with a perimeter touch!?!? YOU WANT to play the 4 for the Princetown! Plus you know the best way to get on SportsCenter is huge offensive putbacks!

Alex Poythress, 6-7" sf/pf from Clarksville, Tenn. Receiving visits and offers from Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Louisville, UTennessee, Memphis, Cincinnati, and Florida. Said to have received letter from Georgetown. Poythress reminds alot of Tennesseans of former Clarksville standouts Trenton Hassell, Marques Maybin, and Shawn Marion.

ID....He is very good and and even a better upside. If not the Hoyas, other Big East programs are paying attention to him (Louisville and Cincinnati).

I just meant, I remember you telling us about him a long time ago and wishing the Hoyas would get in on him. Now it seems like they have, which is awfully late. I'm glad they did though. I think GU needs a SF in the next two classes. Whether that be Porter in '11 and one in '12 or a combo forward in '12 and a true SF in '13.
