What's happening to our season lately may not be pretty, but there are things in life much more important. In one of those - the rebuilding of Haiti after catastrophic losses from the January earthquake - Alonzo Mourning has stepped up big-time, raising $800K-$1m (depending on which report) so far in relief funds and donating shelter that can be quickly assembled and occupied. In real life, I have a blog on community, development, and the environment (I work for an enviro group), and this is the subject of today's post: switchboard.nrdc.org/blogs/kbenfield/haiti_update_mourning_builder.html. Enjoy and be proud.

Thanks for a bright shining light and helping us keep things in perspective. Zo has always been a fine representative for the Hoya nation.

One of the all-time best Hoyas and that's not even including what he did on the court. Well done as always Mr. Mourning.

I'm really impressed. I came to the story through the architecture side and wasn't expecting to find Zo as part of it.
